These were the words spoken to Saul. Saul disobeyed God. He was supposed to destroy everything in the city, instead, he saved the best of all that was good and did not kill the king as he was instructed to do. His disobedience cost him the crown. Samuel reminded him that when he was small in his own eyes, God placed him in a position of royalty. He was the king of Israel. God wants to promote His people. However, one thing that could be hindering Him from doing that is our pride. The Bible tells us that pride comes before destruction. We must all get to a place where we understand that we are who we are by the grace of God. We must understand that our intelligence, talents, and abilities, all came from God. When we get to a place that we think we are smarter than God, we are on dangerous ground. Saul disobeyed God and thought his idea was better than God’s. We must never get to that place. We must be doers of the Word of God and, we must obey God at all costs. Let's stay little in our own eyes and keep our dependency on God. Without him we are nothing.
