Trials, challenging times...they come to all of us. What we do with the Word of God will determine what happens to us during the storms of life. When we build our house (our lives) on the Word of God, our house will stand. We won’t fall apart. We won’t cry the blues. It doesn’t matter how hard the storms beat upon our lives; we will still be standing victoriously in the end. The people, who only hear the Word, are the ones whose house did not survive the storm. They heard the Word, but they built their house on something else. The foundation of their house was something other than the Word of God. The Word of God is the only sure foundation that will guarantee that we thrive, not just survive in this life. Jesus said that we are not to live on bread alone, but every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). As we do, we will live victoriously, the way God intended for us to.
