πŸ“– Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, But stripped Himself [of all privileges and [rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!” -Philippians 2:5-8 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

How much does God love you? How much does heaven value you? God sent Jesus to the earth to die for humanity. Jesus not only came to die for humanity, but He also emptied Himself of all the attributes that made Him God. He allowed Himself to become tired. He allowed Himself to experience what it feels like to feel hunger. He allowed Himself to bleed and to feel pain. He lived like a man. He became human so that we could live on a higher level. We are not mere men. We are made in His class. Jesus humbled Himself so that we can become more. He abased Himself so that we can experience life and have it more abundantly. Jesus did not come to the earth for Himself, He came down for us! He came down so that we could come up. He experienced death so that we could experience life, the God kind of life. Let us show our appreciation for the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Let's never take what He did for granted. If Jesus can humble Himself, we can humble ourselves. Afterall, we are who we are by His grace.
