📖 “I have seen slaves on horses, and princes walking like slaves on the earth.” -Ecclesiastes 10:7 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

As kings, we are to take our rightful place on the earth. Many believers are living below the standards that God has established for them. God expects us to be the head and not the tail. We are to be above only and not beneath. God sees us as His ambassadors and as kings and priests. Many are walking like slaves when they should be riding on the high places of the earth. We are no longer in the kingdom of darkness. We have been delivered into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. We are to walk like it and to talk like it. The Bible even tells us that the sinner's wealth is laid up for the just (Proverbs 13:22). We are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We have been given authority. So, let's not allow ourselves to be out of place. Let us seize what belongs to us. No matter how long it takes, we must be like Caleb and demand what has been promised to us. All things are ours! (I Corinthians 3:22).

📖 “God is not a human being, and he will not lie. He is not a human, and he does not change his mind. What he says he will do, he does [will he not do it?]. What he promises, ·he makes come true [ will he not fulfill it/make it come true?]." -Numbers 23:19 Expanded Bible

We cannot look at God the way that we look at other human beings. God is not a man, and He does not lie. God will not change His mind concerning His children. He promises to meet every need in our lives (Philippians 4:19). If He promised to do it, then we can definitely count on Him to do it. The Word of God says that we are redeemed, so that means we are. It tells us that we are healed, which means we are. Whatever the Word says that we are, that is what we are. Whatever God has said in His Word that we are is who we are. When we believe in His Word and stand on His promises, we experience the reality of those promises. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but God’s words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35). God always comes through. He can be depended upon.

📖 “The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want" -Proverbs 13:25 KJV

This seems to be God's way. He wants His people to eat until they are satisfied. When the Israelites were in the wilderness, they were to get enough manna to satisfy their individual appetites. When Jesus fed the multitudes with five loaves and two fishes, they ate until they were satisfied. In Deuteronomy chapter 8, God told them that when they had eaten and were full, not to forget the Lord their God. When God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, He said they could eat of all the trees except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God desires that we prosper and succeed. He wants us to enjoy life, and eating until we are full would be part of that. We serve a great God. Hallelujah!

📖 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy.” -Proverbs 13:12 TLB

Hope is a goal-setter. It is a positive expectation that something you desire will eventually become a reality. People can become ill when they lose hope and have nothing to look forward to. They can live in poverty so long that they lose hope that they will ever experience abundance. They can even remain sick for so long that they lose hope that their health will improve. As we stay with God, we can trust that our lives will get better. We can hope in God because He has a plan for our lives: a plan that is good and not evil. It’s a plan to give us a hope and a future. Keep your hope in God. He will never let you down. The path of the just is a shining light that grows brighter and brighter unto a perfect day (Proverbs 4:18).

📖 “But you [Jeremiah], gird up your loins! Arise and tell them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed and break down at the sight of their faces, lest I confound you before them and permit you to be overcome. For I, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar and bronze walls against the whole land-against the [successive] kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land [giving you divine strength which no hostile power can overcome]. And they shall fight against you, but they shall not [finally] prevail against you, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you." -Jeremiah 1:17-19 AMPC

When God is leading us, we can rest assured that He will defend us and protect us. We can go boldly, knowing that He is going before us and making the crooked places straight. It doesn't matter who tries to fight against us; no weapon that is formed against us can prosper. We are to be bold as lions. We must move forward knowing that if God is for us, no one can successfully stand against us as our enemy. God was telling Jeremiah that He was with Him. That was enough for Jeremiah to be willing to go anywhere for God. God is with us. We must adopt that same mentality. We must be willing to go wherever and whenever for God. We must go knowing that if He is with us, we cannot fail.

📖 “Him we preach and proclaim, warning and admonishing everyone and instructing everyone in all wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God), that we may present every person mature (full-grown, fully initiated, complete, and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One). For this I labor [unto weariness], striving with all the superhuman energy which He so mightily enkindles and works within me." -Colossians 1:28-29 AMPC

Paul was walking out the call of God. He was fulfilling his purpose. He was laboring to the point of weariness and depending on the Greater One on the inside of him to strengthen him and supply him with the energy he needed. That should be our attitude toward our purpose and calling. We should pursue it with all of our might. We should depend on the Greater One to energize us to go above and beyond. Jesus did the same thing when He was on earth. He was teaching, preaching, and setting the people free. Jesus gave it all He had, and we should do no less. We should give God everything we have, plus some. It's the least that we can do because of all that He has sacrificed so that we can be free.

📖 “And so it was that he [Abraham], having waited long and endured patiently, realized and obtained [in the birth of Isaac as a pledge of what was to come] what God had promised him.” -Hebrews 6:15 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

God made a promise to Abraham when he was seventy-five years old. The “promised child” was born when Abraham was a hundred years old. Abraham waited twenty-five years until the promised child was born. Abraham could have been moved by time, but he wasn’t. Abraham believed God. Abraham believed that God was faithful to bring everything to pass. Abraham had experienced the Blessing of the Lord, and He knew that God would not lie to Him. Abraham reached the point where He believed that God would do what He said He would do. Many times, we are unwilling to wait on God. We may not know why things have taken a long time to manifest, but we know that God is faithful. We must endure patiently, knowing that God will come through. We must rest in the integrity of God. It is a divine truth that He cannot lie (John 3:33 Amplified Classic).

📖 “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah." -Psalm 68:19 King James Version

God is so good! He isn’t just good some of the time; He is good all the time. He daily loads us with benefits. Every day we can expect something good from God. The Word tells us that “every good gift and every perfect gift comes from above and comes down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17). God doesn’t daily load us with hardships and obstacles. He doesn’t pass on sickness and disease to us. He gives us good things, all the time. Jesus did not come to give us problems, He came to give us life and life in abundance. It is easy to tell where something comes from. If it is bad, it is from the devil. If it is good, it is God. Every day, look for something good to happen to you. It is a benefit that belongs to you as a believer.

📖 “The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger [God will meet all his needs], But He will reject and cast away the craving of the wicked." -Proverbs 10:3 Amplified Bible

The Lord knows how to meet our needs. He will not allow us to go hungry when we put our trust in Him. God fed Elijah by sending the ravens to bring him food in the morning and the evening. Jesus multiplied fish and bread and fed thousands of people. God fed the Israelites manna in the wilderness, and there were 2-3 million people. God is not moved by famine or our circumstances. God is moved by faith. He changes circumstances and will change yours if you believe Him to do so. His eyes are looking throughout the earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect towards Him (II Chronicles 16:9).

📖 “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”; “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.” –Psalm 30:5; 126:5 NKJV

The Lord never leaves us or forsakes us because we belong to Him. However, our disobedience can separate us from Him to the degree that we do not experience His favor. God’s love and mercy cause Him to give us avenues of repentance so He can restore our joy and fellowship. Consider Proverbs 3:11-12 NLT - “My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline, and don’t be upset when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights". It is a parental thing. God is a good Father. We may weep through the night as we come back in alignment with God's Word and will, but He will always restore our joy. His love will never fail us. If we sow tears of repentance, we will reap a harvest of joy. Godly sorrow leads to repentance, and tears of repentance lead to joy. Turn your tears into tears of joy! You are loved!

DAILY DEVOTIONAL | April 9th

📖 "At the crack of dawn on Sunday, the women came to the tomb carrying the burial spices they had prepared. They found the entrance stone rolled back from the tomb, so they walked in. But once inside, they couldn’t find the body of the Master Jesus. They were puzzled, wondering what to make of this. Then, out of nowhere it seemed, two men, light cascading over them, stood there. The women were awestruck and bowed down in worship. The men said, “Why are you looking for the Living One in a cemetery? He is not here, but raised up. Remember how he told you when you were still back in Galilee that he had to be handed over to sinners, be killed on a cross, and in three days rise up?” Then they remembered Jesus’ words.” -Luke 24:1-8 The Message

Jesus is alive! Jesus came to the earth, and He fulfilled His mission. The grave could not keep Him. After Jesus paid the price for the sin of humanity, God raised Him from the dead. The people that would receive Him, would no longer be subject to Satan. The people that received Him would no longer be subject to the curse of sickness and disease. The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ sealed our victory. Jesus took the keys of hell and death. We are now seated with Him at the right hand of the Father. We are now His joint-heirs. We are now the children of God. Praise the Lord, our Savior is alive!

📖 "If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]." -I John 1:9 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

We have all missed the mark at some point. We all have said something we shouldn't have said and done things that we knew we should not have done. In short: we have all made mistakes and acted in ways in which we knew better. The good news is that God is a LOVING God. When we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us and to cleanse us from all wrongdoing. When there is true repentance, God promises to forget our sins as though the sin had never occurred. God looks at the heart, and He knows our flaws. God is faithful to us, even if we aren’t. He is faithful to His compassionate nature. He will never condemn us for our past. As we walk with Him, we know that our latter end will be greater than our former.

📖 "Oh, thank God—he’s so good! His love never runs out. All of you set free by God, tell the world! Tell how he freed you from oppression, Then rounded you up from all over the place, from the four winds, from the seven seas.” -Psalm 107:1-3 The Message Bible

God is so good. The Bible tells us that His mercies are new every morning and that He is faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23). When God sets us free, He expects us to stay free. He also expects us to share about our deliverance with others. Remember that we have overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11). God is so good to us that we should always be testifying of His goodness. Our testimony is a living, breathing advertisement for the kingdom of God. It reveals to the world how good God is, and it causes them to want to know more about the God we serve. No one wants to hear about a God that will bring sickness on your body and causes calamity in your life. Most people would run as far as they can from a God like that.

📖 "Let us look closely at our ways and examine them and then return to the Lord.” -Lamentations 3:40 God’s Word Translation

Every now and then, we have to examine our lives. Sometimes, we can get off track and not realize it. Other times, we could find ourselves in unbelief or in a place where we aren’t trusting God as we once did. We can become so busy that we aren’t praying or reading the Word like we used to. The good thing is that we can always get ourselves back on track. We can always return to the Lord. Returning to the Lord doesn’t always mean we are living a life of sin. It could also mean that we need a personal revival. We need to do things the way we once did. God is always reaching out to us; the key is how we respond. We can always come back if we have drifted away.

📖 "Because the Lord God helps me, I will not be dismayed; therefore, I have set my face like flint to do his will, and I know that I will triumph." -Isaiah 50:7 The Living Bible

Our confidence should always be in God. When we know who is on our side and who has our back, it should be difficult for us to live in a state of worry or dismay. We can be like Jesus. We can set our faces like a flint, knowing that we will triumph. Paul even said, “now thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14). We can “set our faces”, regardless of the circumstances. We can gain confidence in the fact that God will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). When God helps you, you can’t help but win. We are not only winners, but we are also more than conquerors through Him that loves us (Romans 8:37).

📖 "My desire is to have you free from all anxiety and distressing care." -I Corinthians 7:32a Amplified Bible Classic Edition

Paul, speaking to the Corinthian church, expressed that his desire was for them to be free from all anxiety and distressing care. His desire is what God desires. God desires to handle every worry and every care. He doesn’t want you distracted with the issues of life. Jesus said in Luke 12:29, not to have a mind that is, “anxious, troubled, unsettled, excited, worried, and in suspense”. God knows what's up the road. He tells us not to worry about tomorrow. God can handle every situation when we give it over to Him. The key is we must hand it over to Him. Cast your care on the Lord and don’t allow the enemy to overwhelm you. God can handle anything, including your problems.

📖 "Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” -Psalm 51:12 NKJV

Let us be reminded of what we received when we accepted Jesus as our Savior. The word "salvation" encompasses deliverance, preservation, safety, health, peace, harmony, wisdom, confident hope, grace, protection, and provision. WOW! When we consider all that is wrapped up in the salvation that is provided to us freely through Jesus, it should be enough to make us shout! It will remind some of us of the hymn lyrics, “When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that He’s done for me; my soul cries out HALLELUJAH! I thank God for saving me!”

Meditate on this throughout the day. Isaiah 12:3 NKJV says, “Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Draw what you need from the Lord in prayer. Praise God for His generosity toward you! Rest knowing that you will experience the Holy Spirit’s bountifulness. He is upholding you. The Spirit of the Living God is pouring the power of salvation into your situation right now. Be sure to proclaim your victory! Share what the joy of salvation means to you with someone who has not experienced what you have found in the Lord.

📖 "Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion; And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness." -Ephesians 4:22-24 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

When God sets us free; He expects us to stay free. We are to strip ourselves of our former nature and walk in the new nature that is on the inside of us. Our mindset should change. We should no longer think like the world. Our thinking should be in line with the Word of God. We should walk in holiness and consecrate our lives to God because He paid the ultimate price for us through the Blood of His Son. The very least we can do is to live for Him. We owe Him our lives. We should endeavor to increase our knowledge of God so that we can be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We increase our knowledge of Him so that we can be transformed into His image. With all that God has done for us, why shouldn’t we live for Him.

📖 "For which of you, wishing to build a farm building, does not first sit down and calculate the cost [to see] whether he has sufficient means to finish it? Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation and is unable to complete [the building], all who see it will begin to mock and jeer at him, Saying, This man began to build and was not able (worth enough) to finish." -Luke 14:28-30 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

Before making any major life decisions, we must count the cost. Before you build something, you must count the cost to finish the project. Before you change jobs, you must count the cost. Before you get into a relationship, you must count the cost. We must be thorough thinkers. As we contemplate our decision, we must look at things from every angle and allow the Spirit of God to show us things we may not have seen. When we yield to the leadership of the Spirit of God, we follow His lead, knowing that He will not lead us astray. He would not lead us down the wrong path. We put our trust in Him; we will never be put to shame or disappointed in our expectations.

📖 "If the Lord does not build the house, it is useless for the builders to work hard over it. If the Lord does not watch over the city, it is useless for the watchman to stand guard.” -Psalms 127:1 Evangelical Heritage Version

One of the best things that we can do for ourselves is to stay in sync with God. Success is inevitable when we are where He wants us to be and doing what He wants us to do. When the Lord is building the house, the ministry, or the business, it takes the pressure off us. God will finance it. God will bring the people in. God will go before us and make the crooked places straight. When we are building the house, the business, or the ministry on our own, we are responsible for the finances, the resources, and the people to ensure it succeeds. It is so much easier when we allow God to complete His purposes for us. We are co-laborers with Him. He can handle anything that He has planned for us, and there is nothing too hard for Him.
