Ephesians 3:14-19 NKJV

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

I remember reading this passage and thinking, “How could you even begin to understand the love of Christ which passes knowledge.” But one day I began to understand. I began to operate in that love and that is how I began to understand. There are so many levels of understanding so I have a long way to go but it was exciting one day to say, “This is the love of God – not normal love flowing out of me toward this person.” We know we have begun to understand the love of God when we find ourselves loving someone from our hearts when it just doesn’t make sense to our minds. The love of God bypasses human reasoning and unconditionally reaches out to want to see good come to people who don’t seem to deserve it. Think about it. All of us were there before we were saved. If it had not been for God’s unconditional love, we would still be lost. The love of God in us makes us want to see every sinner saved.  May God continue to reveal His love to us and help us understand the width and length and depth and height of His love for us illustrated through Christ.
