Ephesians 5:25-30 NKJV

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.

This passage in Ephesians 5 is amazing. As Paul exhorts husbands to love their wives, he gives a tall order. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her” Men who hope to fulfill this would definitely have to humble themselves and cry out to God for His help. They would need to decrease and let Christ increase in them. This passage was meant to not only help marriages but help believers see the depth of Christ’s love for the Church. Jesus loved us so much He gave His life for us. As we walk with Him, He sanctifies and cleanses us with the water of the Word. He will not stop working on us until we are holy and without blemish. Paul says the Lord nourishes us and cherishes us. If we could only get a revelation of how special we are to God it would eliminate all fear in our lives. Paul says we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. Think about how you react when a part of your body is attacked. Let us get closer and closer to Jesus so we can allow Him to participate in our lives when we are hurt because He takes anything that happens to us personally. If we allow Him to He will fix every problem in our lives.
