Isaiah 51:7-8 (NKJV)

Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law.
Do not fear the reproach of men, nor be afraid of their insults, for the moth will eat them up like a garment, and the worm will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will be forever and My salvation from generation to generation.

People are challenging the rightness of God’s Word today and doing it with arrogance. They are opposing the righteous openly and boldly. God told His people not to fear the reproach of men and not to be afraid of their insults. The Amplified Bible says “fear not the reproach of men, neither be afraid nor dismayed at their revilings.” When you revile someone you address them abusively. That is what is going on right now. When people stand up for what is right there are people bent on convincing the world they are wrong. When these enemies oppose the righteous, their language and tone is sometimes abusive. They intend to belittle those who accept God’s Word. It can be intimidating. However, God commands us not to be afraid of such actions. He encourages us to remember that those people will eventually die and their flesh be eaten up while His righteousness and salvation will outlive all of them and never go away. We must be encouraged by knowing that what we stand up for will stand the test of time and eventually all enemy voices will be silenced forever.
