Daniel 10:1 (NKJV)

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.”

Daniel had been seeking God for answers for 21 days, fasting and waiting. An angel was dispatched with answers for him but the angel encountered opposition in the heavenly arena. He had to get reinforcement to get through to this man who was highly favored by God. In the midst of his fast, it could have been discouraging after so many days went by and Daniel did not get an answer. Although we need to be patient and allow God to answer us in His way and in His time, we may not be aware that the answer is already on the way. This passage is an illustration of how God pays attention to us. Psalm 34:15 says, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their cry.” It may take a while for us to get an answer but we must go on in confidence that God sees us, hears us and responds. We never seek Him in vain. When our answer comes, may we not be found afraid that the answer may not come. May we be found waiting and expecting.
