Hebrews 11:23 NKJV
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s command.
Moses’ parents heard the command of the king just like everyone else. All male Hebrew babies were to be killed. While many suffered the loss of their sons, Amram and Jochebed answered fear with faith and chose to hide their son from the murderers. They chose to see their child with a destiny instead of a grave. Their faith paid off. Moses ended up in the royal family in Egypt and went on to be the person God used to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian slavery. What could they lose? The child had been appointed to death by Pharaoh so if he was discovered he could have been killed. At the same time if he was not discovered and killed he could fulfill his divine destiny. We have nothing to lose by stepping out in faith. The four lepers in 2 Kings 7 were in a similar situation. If they remained where they were they would die. If they went somewhere for help they could also die but it was their only chance of survival. Instead of staying where they were and allowing fear to kill them, they decided to step out in faith and go for the only chance they had of escaping death. Their faith decision led to victory for them. Whenever fear knocks on our doors let us always answer it with faith. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
