Psalm 103:2-3 NKJV

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.

The psalmist here praises God as the One who forgave his sins and healed his diseases. He recognized God as the source of his freedom from guilt and his freedom from sickness and disease. As he encourages himself to bless his healing and forgiving God, he tells himself how serving God has benefits. We may have heard the term all-inclusive. It is used in different situations but it is particularly enticing when it comes to vacation packages. Some travelers like the idea of paying one price and not having to spend money separately for this and that. They like an all-inclusive trip deal. Then, once they start the vacation they just spend money if they want to but not because they have to. As blood-washed people of God, we should feel relieved that we have an all-inclusive deal. We don’t have to concern ourselves with whether or not the sin we committed is covered. The blood of Jesus took care of all our sins and it has not lost its power. Because we love God, we endeavor to live above sin. However, if we sin, we can confess our sins and by blood of Jesus we will be cleansed from all unrighteousness.  We also don’t have to worry about whether or not we have an illness that is covered by God. Jesus paid for all our diseases. Every sin is forgiven. Every sickness has been healed. We can just go to the counter in Heaven and present our receipt and wait for the benefits to be given to us. Our receipt is the Word of God that tells us Jesus took our infirmities, bore our sickness and with His stripes we were healed. These things are spiritual blessings available to us to help us enjoy a better life in this natural world. Thank God for His wonderful benefits!
