Exodus 15:26 NKJV

and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

Divine health begins with recognizing the source of health. The Lord introduced Himself to Israel in Exodus 15:26 as their Healer or their physician. As He introduced this part of His nature to them, He told them if they would be obedient to what He instructed them to do they would not experience the diseases they witnessed in Egypt. Egypt is a type of the world. Israel represented the people whom God has chosen. The apostle Peter told us that we, the Church are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood and God’s special people. As we review what God said to Israel we can see that He wants to be our primary care physician. Since He is omniscient, He also wants to be our specialist in every field of healthcare. We need a paradigm shift. It’s time that we take the role of our primary care doctor seriously. Instead of going to Him last after we have consulted every human available to examine us, let us practice going to God first. He never makes mistakes and He is the manufacturer of our bodies. So who could better determine what we need to do than Him? It is so easy to lean on the arm of flesh but it is also unwise. God uses human beings but they are not our source. God can even guide our steps so that we go to the right earthly physician if we need one. I choose today to fellowship with my primary doctor and thank Him for caring for my body in an excellent way. I also choose to follow any instructions He gives me so I can walk in the path of health He has designed for me.
