2 Chronicles 2:11 NKJV

Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: Because the Lord loves His people, he has made you king over them.

It is amazing how particular God is about us. If we would only follow Him and allow Him to guide us in our decision making He will lead us to people and places He has specifically designed for us. When King Hiram saw the qualities of Solomon, he decided that God loved Israel. He considered Israel to be blessed by having such a great leader. Indeed God does give us leaders because He loves us. Jeremiah 3:15 says, "And I will give you shepherds according to my heart who will feed you with knowledge and understanding." Ephesians 4:11 says, "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but speaking the truth in love may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ - from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love." Many people never get to the leader God has chosen for them because they make decisions based on their minds and their flesh, not because they are led by the Holy Spirit. Indeed God selects leaders, not because He loves the leaders but because He loves those He wants them to lead. Not all leaders are ordained by God. Leaders are judged more sternly because of their responsibility to God for the people in their care. Thank God He loves us so much that He ordained leaders to help us along the way.
