Genesis 40:13 NKJV
Now within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you will put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand according to the former manner, when you were his butler.
Sometimes restoration applies to relationships as we discussed previously. Sometimes it applies to positions or jobs or ministry. In the case of the butler in the story of Joseph, his position and job were restored. He went back to doing what he previously did before his position and job were taken from him. This was good news. His friend the baker was not as fortunate. His life was taken from him. The Bible does not explain the reasoning behind the outcomes of each case. However, if we lose our position, job or ministry, we want to live in such a way that the chances of restoration are greater than a less desirable outcome. The scripture tells us exaltation comes through humility. So we should remain humble at all times to optimize our chances of restoration in the event of a loss of position, job or ministry.
