2 Kings 8:6 NKJV
And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed a certain officer for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, and all the proceeds of the field from the day that she left the land until now.”
This verse is part of a story about a woman who had to leave her property due to a famine. She followed God’s instructions through the prophet Elisha. When she returned she wanted her property which included her house back. God set her up. The king was asking Elisha’s servant, Gehazi about the great things God did through Elisha. Gehazi was just talking about this woman whose son was restored to life when the woman walked in to make an appeal for her possessions to be returned to her. The king appointed an officer to see to it that not only her possessions were restored but any proceeds that came from her field from the day she left until the day she returned. Sometimes we can find ourselves wondering how we can experience restoration. When we are following God, He has a way that includes timing and putting people in strategic places to get the job done. All we need to do is trust God and follow Him. That’s our part. How to restore us is His responsibility and He does all things well.
