Matthew 6:13 NKJV
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
I so desperately need God’s guidance so I will not walk into Satan’s traps. Jesus knew this is true for every believer and He included words in His sample prayer that asks for help in avoiding temptation and deliverance from the plans of the evil one. After we ask God’s guidance, guess what we need to do. We need to follow the guidance He gives. What’s the point of asking for help we don’t want to accept? We cannot get into a mindset of asking for help but only accepting it when we like it. Let us pray this prayer humbly. “And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Then follow the leading of the Lord so He can answer that prayer.
