Exodus 15:13 NKJV
You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have redeemed. You have guided them in Your strength to Your holy habitation.
After Moses and the nation of Israel crossed the Red Sea and saw Pharaoh's army destroyed, they celebrated their deliverance. Words to the song they sang included, "You in Your mercy have led forth the people whom You have redeemed."
Although God was honoring His covenant when He delivered Israel from Egypt, it was still His mercy that brought them out. Why? Because His covenant was based on mercy. No one God entered covenant with earned the right to be in covenant with Him. God was the One with all the benefits to offer. Man was the one who needed what God could give. God could make it without us but not vice versa. Thank God for His mercy that caused us to enjoy redemption.
