Exodus 20:24, Romans 15:33 NKJV

An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you.

Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen

The Israelites offered many types of sacrifices. One type was called a "peace offering." They celebrated the fact that they served the Lord who blessed them with peace. In his letter to the Romans, Paul referred to God as "the God of peace." The peace offering was not required. It was voluntary. It could be brought to the Lord as an act of thanksgiving. Let us offer up a peace offering today - a sacrifice of the fruit of our lips expressing gratitude to the God of Peace, Jehovah Shalom, for granting us His peace. If we don't know Him, we have no real peace. To know Him is to know peace. The degree of peace we walk in is related to how well we know Him. The apostle Paul once said that one of his goals was to know the Lord. He already knew the Lord, but he understood there were levels of knowing Him. It's just like anyone we know on earth. The more we spend time with a person, the more we get to know him/her.
