Exodus 40:9 NKJV
“And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it; and you shall hallow it and all its utensils, and it shall be holy.
The tabernacle was the place set aside for worship to the Lord. The lamps burned continually.
Spiritual Parallel: In addition to letting our lights shine at home continually, we must, of course, live godly lives before the world. Jesus emphasized the importance of a good witness to unbelievers. Even when sinners annoy us, we must remember who we are - a part of the answer, not the problem. We don't know what's going on inside of a person, so we must tune in to Heaven for instructions on how to conduct ourselves before sinners, especially in difficult moments. Remember what Jesus said:
Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
