Matthew 22:31-32 NKJV

But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Paul told us to comfort one another when loved ones who lived for Christ depart this earth, knowing that our parting is only temporary. Jesus responded to those who did not believe in the resurrection of the dead by saying that God calls Himself the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He pointed out that God is not God of dead people but living persons. Therefore, although Abraham, Isaac and Jacob had left the earth they were still alive somewhere. The more we understand the reality of the unseen realm the easier it will be to release our saved loved ones to the Lord until we see them again. It does not mean we will not miss them. It means we will not hold on to them and allow grief to take over our lives and destroy us. If we are not sure where someone went, we must still let them go seeing that we cannot bring them back. We have to love God more than everyone else and allow Him to heal our emotional pains. Then we must do our part to help others who are alive become a part of God's family. Once this life is over, we will be forever united with our permanent family and the memory of others will go away. We believe that because we believe in the unseen realm.
