The Young Ladies of Victory Take on Dallas, Texas for an Event Aimed To Strengthen Conservative Views

As the Body of Christ, we have a responsibility to not only preach the gospel to the world but also to teach and demonstrate God’s Word and His ways to our children. Scripture reveals God’s motive for choosing Abraham in Genesis 18:19 which states: “For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

At Victory Christian Center, we firmly believe that God's Word is the sole source of truth, and we make every effort, by His grace, to be doers of His Word rather than only hearers. By investing in and instructing our youth in God's ways, we are putting God's Word into practice. Earlier this month, the young ladies of Victory, who range in age from 15 to 26, traveled to Dallas, Texas, on June 9 through 11, to attend the Turning Point USA Young Women's Leadership Summit. Being the largest gathering of female conservatives in the country, this annual event's main goal is to give young women the knowledge and skills they need to preserve traditional, Christian values in the modern world.

Unfortunately, today's youth in America have been growing up in a culture which promotes blasphemous doctrines and lifestyles and openly encourages people to call good evil. Despite the rapid cultural decline that appears to be occurring in America today, God is thankfully raising up prominent conservative speakers to lead movements that edify the next generation and inspire them to good works such as Charlie Kirk and TPUSA.

Our young women were blessed with the opportunity to stay at a five-star resort during the YWLS event and attend a special tea to hear from a panel and enjoy delightful treats before going to the conference's opening session. Our young women were honored with front-row seats during the session with Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne, US Representative Lauren Boebert, and political commentator Candace Owens. The program was jam-packed with top-notch activism and leadership training. During the various networking opportunities, they connected with notable political figures and activist groups.

We thank God for this opportunity to touch and change lives for the glory of God by investing in the next generation through various avenues such as the TPUSA Young Women’s Leadership Summit! If you are interested in learning more about how to get your son or daughter involved in everything we’ve made available to them through the ministry, stop by the Welcome Center before or after services to inquire.

VCC Church Combats Public School Controversy With End-Of-School Celebration for Local Communities

School’s out and it’s time for some summer fun! To combat the many controversial issues that have recently taken place in public schools all over the country, the Director of the VCC Missions Department, Mrs. Phyllis Finch, felt a prompting in her spirit to reach out to the public-school students in the community to celebrate the completion of their school year and to plant seeds of salvation and prayer into the children and their parents.

More than 70 students and their moms from apartment complexes nearby visited the VYB to attend the End-of-School Celebration! Members from the church who volunteered to help with the event gathered before it began to canvas South Oak Crossing and Shelton Knoll Apartment complexes to invite its residents to enjoy festivities such as music, open gym time, various carnival activities and games, and lots of free food, including hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, drinks, and ice cream!

During the event, the attendants split up into groups, and an encouraging message was shared with each group that catered to their age group. Mrs. Elizabeth Jenkins shared a salvation message with the 5-9-year-old students titled “Who’s Having the Most Fun Here?” Miss Gloria Cleveland shared a self-esteem building message with the girls age 10 and up called “Mirror”. Minister Caleb Smith shared a salvation message titled “Only Jesus Can Fill the Void” with the boys aged 10 and up. Lastly, Mrs. Gail Pharr shared some tips and encouragement with the mothers about “How to Have A Safe Summer.” She also gave them a prayer of divine protection for their children and shared some activities that their children can do over the summer vacation.

In addition to all the food, fun, and encouraging words, the families also received gifts such as toys and books to encourage summer reading. Information about upcoming church activities and services was shared to invite the families to attend, and resources were given to help encourage the families to apply for the Opportunity Scholarship and give their children a Christian education at VCCS.

The event was held on Tuesday, June 13th from 6-8 pm, and by the end of the event, 6 people were saved and 2 people received the infilling of the Holy Spirit! We encouraged all the families to allow God to plant them in a church and gave them a book from Pastor Marilyn Gool called “How to Choose the Right Church.” We give God all the glory for the ability to host this event and for the IMPACT it has had on the nearby communities! We couldn’t have done it without the support of our faithful members who volunteered to help with the event in various ways such as canvasing the neighborhoods to pass out flyers, setting up the activities and various stations for the event, cooking, distributing food, playing music and managing the audio, ministering to and praying for the guests, capturing photos and video footage as well as security on site to oversee the event! If you’re interested in supporting us at the next outreach event, stop by the Welcome Center before or after service to get more information!

SNBC Students Meet Graduation Requirements And Advance To The Next Level

For the last few decades or so, Victory Christian Center has provided Bible Classes for children and youth who attend services at the church. During the Bible Classes, the students are taught in-depth Bible knowledge and are tested throughout the year to prepare for graduation. Bible Class students who meet the age, attendance, and testing requirements are eligible for graduation and to be promoted to the next class level.

On Sunday, June 4th, VCC held its Sunday Night Bible Class graduation ceremony for this year, and the graduating students advanced to the next level of the program. Anthony Hailey, who was one of the Bible Class teachers heavily involved with SNBC since the beginning of the program was recently promoted to the office of Pastor for another ministry and will no longer be teaching the Bible Class students at Victory Christian Center Church. During the ceremony, Mr. Sales, the Sunday Night Bible Class director offered a heartfelt farewell address to express appreciation to Minister Hailey on behalf of the church’s congregation.

Bible Classes are held weekly on Sunday evenings for students ages 5-18. These classes allow children to be in an environment where they can learn the heart principles of the Word of God in a manner that is complimentary to their age level. Each week the children are learning the foundational principles of the Word of God in addition to special lessons and activities designed to minister to each age group on their level. The ministry develops its own curriculum that covers basic Bible requirements as well as current relevant topics that are affecting our world.

This is just one more way that Victory Christian Center is touching and changing lives for the glory of God and fulfilling its mandate of giving God another generation. If you are a member of Victory Christian Center Church with a child between the ages of 5-18 years old, be sure to stop by the Welcome Center before or after services to learn more about how to get your child started in the upcoming Sunday Night Bible Class session.

Local 3rd Graders Become Published Authors!

Victory Christian Center School's third-grade class celebrated the release of their own book, "My Career in School and My Future," on May 23rd. As part of the book launch party, the third graders enjoyed refreshments and reading to the younger elementary school students.

Parents had the opportunity to purchase the brand-new book at the occasion. The first section of the book focuses on what the students want to do when they graduate, and the second section focuses on what they want to accomplish while still in school.

Each page features a narrative written by a different student, along with an illustration. The concepts for both of the covers were created by Bailey Tate and Isray'el Ray. Bailey Tate provided all of the illustrations.

We are very proud of our third graders! They boldly took charge of every aspect of this book's creation, from the topic to the illustration, and to that we say, “to God be the glory!”

The VCC Youth Ministry Transitions Into Its NextGen Of Leadership!

Over the past 24 years, the youth ministry at Victory Christian Center for teens aged 12-18 years old was led by Miss Gloria Cleveland. Under her leadership, many of the VCC youth grew up to become devoted Christians, faithful servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, and valuable assets to the ministry here at Victory Christian Center Church. Miss Cleveland has always been passionate about serving the youth, teaching them the Word of God. Miss Cleveland worked closely with the late Pastor Robyn Gool to help bring God’s vision and strategy for the youth at VCC to fruition.

From its inception, the VCC youth ministry has been called exactly that: the youth. VCC has hosted a number of youth conferences, services, and lock-ins over the years, and participated in outreach activities; such as visiting nursing homes to minister to the senior citizens. After decades of active service and ministry to the VCC youth ministry, Miss Gloria Cleveland is now passing the baton to the next generation of leadership for the youth ministry.

The VCC youth ministry has not only received a new leader but also has a brand new name, both of which were approved by the late Pastor Robyn Gool before he transitioned. The VCC youth ministry, now called “NextGen” will now be led by Minister Caleb Smith, son of Pastors Tony and Joanna Smith of Refreshing Springs Worship Center in Salisbury, NC. We are so excited about this new beginning for our youth and for all the other ways our ministry is going from glory to glory!

VCC's G.R.O.W.N. Small Group Enjoys A Night of Fun at Victory Lanes!

Small groups at Victory Christian Center are just one of the ways that the church cultivates community among its members. G.R.O.W.N., which stands for “God’s Righteous Ones Winning Now” is a small group that caters to members between the ages of 36-49 through gatherings for various occasions such as fun outings, food, and fellowship.

The group's purpose is to let other members know that being a Christian does not mean being boring or “stuck in the mud”, and that it’s more fun to be a Christian. The group aims to let people in this age group know that once you are over 40 years of age, you don’t have to stop having fun.

Earlier this month, G.R.O.W.N., visited Victory Lane Karting for a group outing! Members enjoyed fun activities together such as go-karting, food, arcade games, bowling, axe throwing, virtual reality, and more! Some of the food members enjoyed at the event were nachos and burgers! The group had a blast, and the majority of the members remained at the venue until it closed at midnight!

One particularly fun activity that the members mentioned that they enjoyed was the axe-throwing activity. It all began with the attendant giving them a crash course on how to throw the lightweight axe to hit the target which would require a lot more energy than the participants expected, but yet was still an enjoyable experience that lasted up to an hour of fun! The members wrapped up the night with bowling and go-karting the victory lanes.

We are looking forward to the next small group outing and to another fun time of fellowship with like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ! If you are a member of Victory Christian Center Church and would like to join a small group. You can learn more about the different small groups and find the one that’s the best fit for you by clicking the button below!

VCC Church Hosts Self-Employment Seminar for Interested Community Members

Last week, the VCC Missions Department hosted a Self-Employment Seminar in partnership with US Bank. In the presentation, they shared 7 Things Every Business Owner Should Know. The speakers were financial consultants from US Bank who specialize in helping business owners obtain financing for different purposes within their enterprises.

The speakers touched on a variety of topics such as how to develop a business plan, how to register and maintain your business, separating business and personal expenses, cash flow management, building business credit, funding and protecting your business, and more! There were seven sessions, and at the end of each session, the speakers opened up the floor for questions from the audience.

The attendees were able to gain a wealth of knowledge about how to successfully manage and navigate the world of self-employment. They also enjoyed refreshments and fellowship with like-minded attendees.

At the end of the event, the whole panel of speakers answered various questions together in their areas of expertise and announced open positions in their department for anyone interested in working with them. The participants received more information about the various financing options for business owners available at US Bank, as well as individual contact information for the various speakers they were interested in communicating further with.

VCC Church Fulfills Its Inner City Mission After 25 Years of Service to the Seversville Community!

In the year 1998, Victory Christian Center Church opened Church In The City in the Seversville community of Charlotte. What began as an outreach mission in an area with low income and high crime rates, ended with an established ministry that transformed the area forever!

Last month Pastor Marilyn met with CITC members and then later (Sunday, April 2, 2023), Victory Christian Center Church officially announced the closing of Church In The City and welcomed its newest members who were former members of the Church In The City Outreach ministry with a special reception! During the March 26th service, senior pastor, Pastor Marilyn Gool gave a presentation informing the congregation of the fulfillment of the outreach’s mission and the transformation of the Seversville community! Watch a clip from the presentation below!

The church went all out to make sure the new members felt welcomed, appreciated, and valued by the ministry, and the leaders of the outreach were their along side them to serve and assist them in their transition. View photos from the reception below!

The VCC Evangelism Team Plans To Take The City By Storm!

Victory Christian Center’s mission is to touch and change lives for the glory of God. One tangible way we get to do this is through our Evangelism team! The Evangelism team goes out to different areas around the city to offer prayer and encouragement to anyone who’s willing to receive it. You may or may not have already spotted them holding up their signature yellow “Need Prayer” signs with blue text at nearby intersections and strip mall parking lots!

The team currently has established locations where they go out to evangelize regularly. Currently you can find them out evangelizing in shopping areas, and in some neighborhoods knocking on doors. Most of the neighborhoods around the area where the church is located have been designated places where the team would go out to evangelize, and the team rotates on each outing between their already established locations.

One activity the team enjoys taking part in is their infamous “stop light prayer”, where the team goes out to a busy intersecition and uses their signs to get the attention of the drivers in the cars lined up at the stop light. As they walk up to the cars with their signs, if anyone rolls their window down, they will stop and pray for the individual(s). They normally only aim for the cars in the line that are the closest to the sidewalk so they don’t hold up the traffic.

The team’s previous leader, Minister Anthony Hailey was sent out by the ministry on a one year assignment to be the senior pastor at Mooresville Community Outreach in Mooresville, NC. In his absence, Mr. Charles Gaskin has stepped up to fulfill his role as the new leader of the Evangelism team. Gaskin was officially instated on Saturday, March 21, 2023.

Mr. Gaskin has been a member of the evangelism team since it began. He was taught and trained by the original team leaders: the Holy Spirit and Pastors Robyn and Marilyn Gool. Once Minister Hailey became the leader, the team would meet up to go on outreach events twice per month. Under the new leadership, the team plans to continue with the same schedule incorporating training at least once every other month.

They will be continuing their regular practices of setting up music near shopping centers to attract consumers, as well as splitting up into 4 teams to canvas parking lots. There have been instances when the team went to canvas in an area that did not receive them, however that didn’t stop the work of the Lord.

This is just one more way that VCC is touching and changing lives for the glory of God. If you are interested in becoming a member of the evanglism team, stop by the Welcome Center before or after our weekly services to sign up!

VCC Missions Department Hosts A Helpful Homebuying Workshop for Local Community!

On Saturday, March 4th, 2023, Victory Christian Center Church hosted a Homebuying Workshop to help educate those interested in purchasing a home and wanting to see if they qualify. The workshop was sponsored by US Bank and it was open to the public. Students from VCCS helped prepare the event by packaging gift bags, setting up the refreshments table, and assisting the organizers to prepare for the presentations. Representatives from local homebuying assistance and education organizations, Community Link and Dream Key Partners were also in attendance. These programs assist aspiring homebuyers with qualifying for deposit assistance and those needing help with repairing their credit and other forms of financial assistance.

With Dream Key Partners’ House Charlotte program, households with incomes up to 110% can achieve homeownership with the help of down payment assistance up to $80,000! One of the women in attendance had her testimony shared of how she achieved homeownership through the House Charlotte program and was awarded the $80,000! It was a powerful story of how these programs work to help Charlotte residents become homeowners, even if they don’t traditionally qualify.

Also in attendance were several real estate agents and a mortgage broker who are all members of VCC Church! Participants received gift bags and handouts containing valuable information to help them with the home buying process! Those seeking homeownership for themselves and their children were able to ask questions and their children were able to ask questions and get help with moving forward on their home buying journey.

The participants were also able to learn from a home inspector and get connected with the real estate agent and mortgage loan officers so they could get more help later. After the presentations concluded, the participants were offered refreshments and had an opportunity to meet with the Homebuying representatives and engage in 1 on 1 conversations for more personal advice and assistance, as well as to set future appointments!

We give all the glory to God for this opportunity to serve our members and the local community and to connect with organizations to help empower others on their journey to homeownership!

If you were unable to attend the workshop, but would like valuable information and resources to assist and inform you on success in your home buying journey. Call the Missions Department at 704-529-5888.

Victory Christian Center Church Live Nativity Propels Viewers to Worship King Jesus

On last Wednesday, December 14th, the VCC Ministry of Oration and Visual Expression, also known as M.O.V.E. displayed a live Nativity scene in the Victory Youth Building foyer. As viewers entered through the door beside the gym they were greeted by the first wise man who directed them down the hall toward the Nativity.

As viewers continued down the hall they were greeted by another wise man who directed them to turn left down another hall in the direction of the nativity. Finally as viewers headed toward the foyer, they began to hear dramatic Christmas music. If you were there you more than likely walked in on the scene where all of the characters were gathered around the manager to worship Jesus, the baby King!

The actors did an amazing job bringing the characters to life! All of the famous characters we love from the nativity scene detailed in the book of Luke chapter 2 were portrayed in the live display and below we have listed the names of the actors and their respective roles in the play.

Mary: Brielle Horton
Joseph: Dwayne Cook
The angel: Anthony Mason
Shepherd #1: John Crawford
Shepherd #2: Jedediah Gist
Wise Man #1: Reggie Bratton
Wise Man #2: James White

All the actors put on a powerful display of the nativity that propelled all of the viewers to worship the King!

Be sure to join us this Sunday for another Christmas production! We hope you will make plans to spend Christmas with us this year! Services will be held on Sunday morning at 10am and 7pm. We pray the Lord’s blessings upon you this holiday season!

VCCS Alumni Show Loyalty in Support of The Kings!

Earlier this month on October 7th, VCCS hosted it’s annual homecoming football game! The King’s Stadium was packed full of fans, students, and alumni! The school provided free entry along with a free meal for all the alumni guests who attended the event. There were 37 alumni in attendance.

One thing that stood out about the event was the amazing food! The lines at the concessions stands were full during the entire game! All hands were on deck as the teachers and administrative teams supported the event and helped serve food to the guests!

The most popular food was served at the game including wings, hotdogs, chips, candy, drinks, and more! A special meal was provided for the alumni to show our appreciation for their support and recognition of our school as their own!

Overall the even was a success! The King’s Varsity football team went head on against its long-time rivals, Mount Zion - another private-Christian school in its division. The Kings showed out for its alumni and won the game (final score).

We are so grateful to have such loyal and dedicated supporters who show up continually to support our Kings and for that we say - to God be the glory!

VCC Church Makes A Massive Investment Into Charlotte's Single Pregnant Mothers

The Missions Department at Victory Christian Center Church oversees and orchestrates the ministry’s outreach projects, as well as the VCC Missions House which stores and regularly replenishes its stock of food, clothing, and other resources designated for helping VCC members and others in need!

The members of VCC generously donate various items weekly to support the VCC Missions House’s stock of supplies.

On Saturday, September 17th 2022, the VCC Missions Department hosted the 2022 Preggie Fellowship for single pregnant mothers and single moms with children aged 2 and under in the Charlotte area. The ministry invested greatly into the moms who participated showering them with gifts for themselves and their families!

Not only did the moms receive an abundance of baby clothes and other items, but they also received Bath and Body Works gift bags to pamper themselves with! Grandmothers, fathers, and siblings were also invited to the event. One of the fathers affectionately received a Home Depot tool belt stocked with handy items, snacks and other things! The grandmothers were also showered with gifts for their own pampering.

In addition to the personal gifts the mothers, fathers, and grandmothers received, gift bags and free shopping were also provided for the new and small children.

Everything from bottles, diapers, and pacifiers to bassinets, strollers, car seats, and electronic baby carriers were given to the families! The mothers who participated were tremendously blessed with more than enough to provide for their newborns and small children and for that we say - “To God be the glory!”

The VCC Missions Department led by VCC member Mrs. Finch continuously strives to serve the community by demonstrating the generosity of God and the excellence of Christ!

Pastor Gool Empowers Single Women Heads of Household at VCC with Valuable Information Preparing Them to Thrive in an Economic Crisis!

On Friday, August 12th 2022, VCC Church hosted a meeting for single women who are also head of household. Pastor Gool wanted to share with them some the same valuable information he shares with the men during Men’s Night on Monday nights about how to be prepared in the event of natural disasters, recessions, cyber attacks, and power outages.

The women received extremely helpful information such as what specific items to stock up on. Essential tools and equipment every household should have in the event of a power outage, electric grid disaster, food shortage, etc. Pastor Gool also shared information about the best ways to invest that will position you to prosper and set you apart in the future.

There were many women in attendance at the event. The women were able to relax and connect through board games, enjoy pizza, wings, sweet treats, drinks, fun, and fellowship after the presentation from Pastor Gool all while their children got to run free in the gym in the supervised childcare that was provided for the single moms. The women left that night with a game plan for how to protect themselves and their households in this present climate, as well as elevated faith in the Lord’s power to help them achieve their new goals!

VCC Church Welcomes Terry and Renee Mize for a Powerful Weekend

On the weekend of July 30th and 31st of 2022, Victory Christian Center Church and Pastor’s Robyn and Marilyn Gool welcomed the ministry’s designated apostle - Apostle Terry Mize from Terry Mize Ministries.

Apostle Mize accompanied by his wife Renee Mize delivered a powerful timely message during their stay to the church that weekend that reminded us of how valuable we are to the successful fulfillment of God’s End Times plan of redemption. During her segment on Saturday morning, Renee Mize reminded us that when we show up, God shows up; and that we are God’s opportunity to let the light of the Lion of Judah shine forth to meet the needs of men, women, and children wherever we go!

Apostle Terry Mize went on to remind the church of our original purpose to have dominion over the earth and of how our Lord Jesus Christ has made us Kings and Priests and has called us to reign through Him on this earth. Apostle Mize encouraged the Body to know that faith and fear cannot live in the same house and the Lord confirmed His message with signs following!

Many received healing and deliverance and Apostle Mize prayed and released the anointing to destroy yokes of bondage of the congregation. He emphasized that the yokes would not simply be broken, but utterly destroyed to the point of no repair.

Apostle Terry and Renee Mize also gave the church at VCC an opportunity to sow into the good ground at JMICF, their non-profit foundation that supports orphans and widows around the globe during Christmas time as well as in other ways. It was a powerful weekend and one to remember at VCC Church for years to come!

MTCC A&F Meet & Greet

The MTCC Alumni & Friends Association held their first, cook-out style Meet and Greet event this past weekend at VCC Campus 3.

The event was a success and brought together like-minded supporters of More Than Conquerors College. There was plenty of food and ice cream for all those who were in attendance, and the Meet & Greet helped to bring exposure to the Alumni & Friends Association mission and goals in its support of MTCC and its alumni. The fun and creative games played added to the great time of fellowship and also served as an icebreaker for those in attendance. Alumni & Friends were able to give one-time gifts or make a pledge for a recurring gift.

VCC Church Commemorates Its 42nd Anniversary With Its Entire Congregation Dressed In Blue And Gold

(member-submitted photos)

Around the halls of Victory Christian Center Church, one day of the year that’s highly anticipated by its members is #IAMVICTORYDAY! This is the day the church celebrates its anniversary and another year of God’s faithfulness to the ministry.

Each year the church does something special to celebrate its anniversary, whether its a Family Fun Day where the church puts on an event for its members to come together for a day of games, attractions, contests, and food or something else.

This year, to commemorate its 42nd anniversary, the church asked that all of its congregants wear blue and gold church attire. The church set up photo stations with backdrops where members could have their photos professionally taken and someone there to take them with their phones! It was fun, and pretty cool

The blue and gold color combination never looked more beautiful than when the Body of Christ wore it in unity that special Sunday morning at VCC Church. It was a beautiful picture of God’s blessing and anointing for kingship on the ministry and all of its faithful members!

It was also special to hear from VCC’s oldest member - Mother Johnson - in an interview she participated in with First Lady Mrs. Gool. It was a blessing to hear her story and her journey with VCC Church from the beginning of our ministry until now, and about the IMPACT that our ministry has made in her life and in her relationship with God!

We give God all the glory for His faithfulness to our ministry and for the grace to fulfill His calling of touching and changing lives for the glory of God! We are looking forward to many more years of ministry by the will of God as He continues to take us from glory to glory!

Happy Anniversary Victory Family! The best is yet to come!
