Vermont public school hosts drag ball (teachers and students participate)
Critics are speaking out after teachers hosted and participated in a controversial event in Vermont.  A teacher at Burlington High School in Vermont came up with the idea to host a drag ball runway fashion show. Andrew LeValley, who is also an adviser for the school’s Gender Sexuality Alliance came up with the idea to host the show during halftime at a school football game. For those who don’t know what a drag ball it is an event that usually includes men and women dressed in the opposite clothing of their gender (in some cases very provocative clothing.). About 30 students and teachers in total participated wearing gowns, wigs, and makeup to look the part. The crowd according to the Associated Press chanted “Drag Ball!” as participants paraded across the field. The school’s staff and students were supportive according to reports. Social media users heavily criticized the event calling it clear indoctrination. One user even commented, “Vermont is losing it.”

SNBC NEWS Update: NSBA apologizes
The National School Board Association has apologized for its recent criticism towards parents. The NSBA released a statement following nationwide criticism for their request to have parents investigated by the Department of Justice. According to the six-page letter, the association claimed parents’ objections at school board meetings were a threat to the well-being of school board members nationwide. The letter compared parents to domestic terrorists for objecting to school curriculum or policies.  The situation turned into a contentious battle in Washington last week when the US Attorney General was called to testify before Congress. During the testimony US Attorney General Merrick Garland admitted no one in the Biden Administration had advised him concerning the School Board Association’s request. This means the DOJ was going rogue when they requested the FBI to investigate parents. The entire case stemmed from a father being arrested after he questioned a school board in Virginia following the sexual assault of his 14-year-old daughter. The girl was the second victim of a male student who claimed to be gender fluid. The student was allowed in the girls’ restrooms due to his identifying as gender fluid and frequently wearing a skirt. The victims were attacked and assaulted while in the school restrooms.
The father was arrested after an emotional outburst when he attempted to question the school board about his daughter’s assault. A board member has since resigned following the incident. The National School Board Association says the organization will be better moving forward and apologized for language used in the letter towards parents. Parents around the nation have been protesting mask mandates, critical race theory curriculums, and controversial transgender and gender fluid rights being introduced into public schools.
