US Army announces penalties for soldiers who refuse COVID shot
Thousands of soldiers will no longer receive benefits according to a recent announcement. The announcement was made by the US Army and will affect soldiers who have not received a COVID shot or an approved exemption. The order will also ban soldiers from participating in drills and training ending their benefits as well as freezing their pay. The order will affect over 60-thousand soldiers in the Army Reserve and the US National Guard. Religious exemptions have been granted to over 7-thousand soldiers on active duty. No soldiers in the National Guard or Army Reserves has so far been granted exemption. Army officials say those that continue to refuse will be punished. Thousands of other soldiers across the US Armed Forces have been dishonorably discharged for refusing to take the COVID shot.
Christians awarded for persecution on jobs in UK
Two Christians have one their cases citing discrimination in the UK. A Christian who worked at a factory was fired after he refused to remove his cross necklace. The man says he was fired for no other reason except refusing to remove the necklace. The supervisor claimed the necklace was a hazard on the job, but never filed the proper paperwork to have the employee’s necklace deemed a hazard or approved as an exception due to his religious beliefs. The man was awarded 30-thousand dollars by a British employment tribunal. Another Christian also won her case in January of this year. The woman, who worked as a nurse, says she was victimized for wearing a cross on the job. She had previously worked wearing the cross with no issues until recently and noted she had worn the necklace for over 40 years. A solution in that case is expected sometime before the end of this year.
US Presbyterian Church presiding board makes controversial announcement
The presiding board over the US Presbyterian Church has made an official announcement concerning their position on the nation of Israel. The organization has declared Israel’s government as the legal definition of apartheid. The resolution claims the decision was made due to the practices of the Israeli government concerning Palestinians. Christian and Jewish organizations called the resolution an insult to Israel and people of both faiths. Critics of the vote say the members of the church were given misleading information to manipulate the vote. They are urging the organization to overturn the resolution which passed 266-116. CBN NEWS reports a steady decline in the number of members and churches affiliated with the Presbyterian Church USA due to its liberal views. Membership in the organization has dropped from just over 3 million in the 1980s to just over 1 million currently.
