Women from across the US gather to pray for America
A large-scale prayer event for America was recently held in the nation’s capital. The event was held at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Called ‘A Million Women’, the event was a call to nationwide prayer, held October 12th. According to organizers 250-thousand women gathered for this special time of prayer.
The 12-hour event was also streamed and featured keynote speakers, prayer, praise and worship. The event was held by organizer Lou Engle. Engle says the idea for A Million Women was because of a dream he had. He says in the dream, women from around the U.S. had gathered as part of a “last stand for America in prayer”. The event’s date also had significance on the Jewish calendar. October 12th was observed this year as the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur in the Jewish faith. Organizers are encouraging those that attended, streamed or just learning about this event to continue to pray for America and its citizens to return to God.
Revival continues to grow on US college campuses
Revival is continuing across the U.S. and around the world. Two new reports of massive revival events in the U.S. and Europe are being reported this week. The Evangelism group UNITE US is reporting another large gathering of students to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, this time at the University of Mississippi.
The event which was held at a pavilion on the campus of Ole Miss featured prayer, praise and worship, and the message of the Gospel. The organization reports over six thousand students gathered for the event. Voted as one of the top party schools in the U.S. according to a nationwide student poll, organizers say they are believing God for a move of His Spirit across the campus. UNITE US representatives say the event ended with hundreds of students accepting Jesus as their personal Savior and being baptized in the back of pickup trucks used as makeshift pools for baptism.
Revival reported in Germany
Another large gathering is being reported, this time in Europe with those attending hungry for the Word of God. Two different events were deemed a success across the nation of Germany. Fire Festival was held in early October. The three-day event was held at an arena and was advertised as a weekend of praise, worship and to hear God’s Word. According to organizers, thousands of people gathered for the event; hundreds were reported to have accepted Jesus as their Savior. The event wrapped with a Jesus March. A second event called Europe will be Saved was also held in Germany. Sponsored by Night of Hope, this six-day event was held with the message of the Gospel being ministered across several major cities in Germany. The organizers reported a large outpouring of people hungry for the Gospel at the outdoor crusade events. Evangelists in Europe are reporting an increase in large crowds at witnessing events across the continent. An evangelist in Europe is encouraging Christians to continue to prayer for Europe and for the largely secular continent to return to Jesus and for revival to continue to spread across all nations in Europe.
