Canadian Justice rules in favor of freedom convoy participants
A Justice in Canada has ruled in favor of protestors. Federal Court Justice Richard Mosley ruled in favor of leaders and demonstrators who participated in the Canadian Freedom Convoy. The protests were conducted in 2022 by truck drivers and supporters, demonstrating against Canada’s strict COVID mandates. Organizers were harassed by the Canadian government. Several were arrested and had their bank accounts frozen. The nation’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, claimed these actions were justified because the protestors were a threat to national security. Justice Mosely ruled the law used arrest group leaders did not apply and it was an overreach of the law. The judge also noted that the protesters’ freedom of expression was infringed. Representatives of the Canadian government say they agonized over the decision to arrest organizers of the protests and they felt their actions were justified. The Freedom Convoy in 2022 inspired protests around the world to call for an end to restrictions. Truck drivers in the US, France, New Zealand, and Australia launched their own freedom convoys following the Canadian Freedom Convoy protests.

Good news: Good News Club expands in popularity
The Good News Clubs are reporting growth across the U.S. The organization is an after-school club for elementary school students. The group is considered one of the largest child evangelism ministries in the world. The club has experienced controversy over the past few years, due to attacks from members of the Satanic temple. The organization claims the group being on school campuses is a violation of U.S. laws. The Satanic temple later demanded its own satanic kids club be allowed on school campuses as an alternative. The Vice President of the Good News Clubs says the attacks have had the opposite effect. Moises Esteves says more Good News Clubs have been added to schools across the U.S. and not one of the groups has been banned from any school. Esteves says the satanic temple’s efforts have helped increase interest in the group. The ministry reports 87 percent of principals surveyed report student behavior has improved since the Good News Club was established. The organization has reached over 30 million students with the Gospel of Jesus and have established clubs in 14 countries, including here in the U.S.
