NY STATE passes Euthanasia law for terminally ill
The state of New York’s government has approved legalized assisted suicide. The measure recently passed this month. New York is now the eleventh state to allow doctor assisted suicide. Opponents of the new law say this creates larger ethical problems. Supporters claim this gives patients the choice to end their lives or in supporters words to “die with dignity” with assistance from a medical professional. Conservatives and Christians are condemning the new law calling it an opportunity to take advantage of the sick and disabled. The governor of New York supported the law, referencing the death of her own mother who passed from a terminal illness.  The Medical Aid in Dying bill will allow a five-day waiting period, a mental health evaluation, and a medical diagnosis of less than six months to live.

SNBC Health report: Kefir and the effects on the body
A recent study monitored the health effects of kefir and fiber in the human body. Kefir, according to research, helps reduce inflammation in the body because of it being fermented. The effect of this drink in the body improved with the addition of prebiotic fiber. The combination according to researchers reduced inflammation and improved gut health in some patients. Researchers believe combining probiotics and prebiotics is a way to support immune balance and metabolic health through food rather than supplements. Examples are probiotic foods that are fermented foods such as yogurt, kefir, buttermilk, kombucha, and sauerkraut. Prebiotic foods include berries, oatmeal, bananas, apples, and garlic.
