Charlotte Crusade 2026 highlights
The 2026 Charlotte Crusade was deemed a success. This is the second time the event was held to witness the Gospel to the city of Charlotte and surrounding areas. The two-night event was held on the campus of UNC- Charlotte at the Halton Arena. Guests came from the Charlotte Metro areas and from other states to be a part of the crusade. The event was held to witness the Gospel to the UNCC Community as well as the Charlotte metro area. The crusade united 142 churches, hundreds of volunteers and school officials to make this event happen. Though the school did not officially endorse the event, student Christian organizations on campus, and school officials helped cooperate with Crusade organizers to make sure the event was safe and ran smoothly. Worshippers and those hungry to hear the Gospel of Jesus filled the area on both nights. The Word was preached by Pastor Tyson Coughlin of Vizion Church on Saturday and Sunday night. The altar call resulted in 420 people receiving Christ or rededicating their lives to the Lord. Pastor Coughlin closed the Sunday evening service thanking the volunteers, churches, and UNCC officials for helping with the event.
Missionary released by Niger kidnappers
missionary was released from prison after nine months. Kevin Rideout was kidnapped in October of last year by three gunmen in the West African country of Niger. The country under a new military regime has shown hostility towards former Western allies including the U.S. No group claimed responsibility, but a release was negotiated and rescue operations were conducted recently. President Trump celebrated the release and said he looks forward to welcoming the missionary home and his administration was glad to help in his release.
British citizens pray for their nation at days long event
A prayer event was held recently in Manchester, England for that nation. Christians gathered as a part of an organization called Prayer Storm to pray for the United Kingdom. Christians were called to participate in three days of prayer, fasting and worship. The call was for a move of God in that nation. Great Britain has experienced a rise in persecution against Christians. Reports of Christians being fired from jobs, arrested and persecuted for witnessing the Gospel. Others have been arrested for witnessing on street corners or standing in front of abortion clinics praying silently. Organizers of the event say the nation is at a critical point and have gathered for prayer for the soul of their nation. The three-day event was held from August 20-22nd.
