Canadian Justice rules in favor of freedom convoy participants
A Justice in Canada has ruled in favor of protestors. Federal Court Justice Richard Mosley ruled in favor of leaders and demonstrators who participated in the Canadian Freedom Convoy. The protests were conducted in 2022 by truck drivers and supporters, demonstrating against Canada’s strict COVID mandates. Organizers were harassed by the Canadian government. Several were arrested and had their bank accounts frozen. The nation’s prime minister, Justin Trudeau, claimed these actions were justified because the protestors were a threat to national security. Justice Mosely ruled the law used arrest group leaders did not apply and it was an overreach of the law. The judge also noted that the protesters’ freedom of expression was infringed. Representatives of the Canadian government say they agonized over the decision to arrest organizers of the protests and they felt their actions were justified. The Freedom Convoy in 2022 inspired protests around the world to call for an end to restrictions. Truck drivers in the US, France, New Zealand, and Australia launched their own freedom convoys following the Canadian Freedom Convoy protests.

Ohio State Congress overturns veto over trans health ban
The Ohio State legislature has voted to overturn a veto by that state’s governor. Governor Mike DeWine in a surprising move vetoed the bill following a vote by the state congress.  The Republican governor says that he spoke with parents of children receiving this kind of care. DeWine expressed the parents concern about their children’s mental health if they are denied care. The law would have prevented trans surgeries and medical procedures for underage children, including financial coverage from Medicaid. It will require mental health examinations, and protection for parents who choose to raise their child as its biological gender. The bill also included a ban on trans athletes in women’s sports in Ohio. State representatives in the House State House or Representatives overturned the veto; the same is expected in the state Senate which will officially make the bill a law in Ohio.

Biden Administration attempts to add woke policies
A new policy may prevent Christians from becoming foster parents. According to recent reports the Biden Administration is attempting to require certain “woke” policies to potential foster parents. The policy introduced by the Department of Health and Human Services, would require foster parents to undergo a cultural competency training course. The course would train potential foster parents to be accepting of a child who identifies with the LGBT community. Critics say the policy is a clear violation of free speech and is religious discrimination. Indiana Representative Jim Banks called the policy, “just plain wrong, and every sane person knows it.” American Family Association's director of the Center for Governmental Renewal called the policy well beyond a slippery slope. Taylor warned this kind of policy would lead to parents’ rights being replaced with government rule over children.

SNBC Health report: the importance of oral health and its overall effect on the body
The health of your teeth and gums is very important to the overall health of your body, according to researchers. Without proper oral hygiene, gingivitis can develop. This is an inflammatory disease caused by an accumulation of plaque, or bacteria, on your teeth that often leads to bleeding gums. If left untreated, it can lead to periodontitis, which is a more serious infection that can lead to teeth loss. Gum disease is often silent. In the initial stage of gingivitis, you may notice bleeding, swollen or receding gums, and later on mouth sores or bad breath. Gum disease, if not treated properly, can possibly lead to issues with the brain. Researchers suggest periodontal pathogens are possible contributors to neural inflammation. In other words, inflammation caused by gum disease can cause inflammation and infections in other parts of the body including the degenerative brain disease (Dementia). Regular brushing, flossing and getting regular cleanings with a mercury-free biological dentist, if possible, will go a long way toward keeping your teeth and gums healthy. A lifestyle that includes a diet based on fresh, whole foods is also essential to a naturally clean mouth and good oral health. For extra care, try “oil pulling” using coconut oil, which is antibacterial and antiviral and can reduce gingivitis and plaque. This procedure requires simply swishing it around your mouth, “pulling” it between your teeth and ensuring it moves around your entire mouth. After about 20 minutes, spit the oil out into the garbage (not the sink). You can use oil pulling daily along with regular brushing and flossing.
