Methodist organization cuts ties with seminary school
A seminary school relationship with the United Methodist Church has officially ended. The UMC recently announced the separation; the school’s president released a statement in response. Dr. David F. Watson said in part, that school officials hoped for a different outcome, but remain steadfast in continuing to stand with Biblical principles and the union of one man and one woman, which is sanctioned by God. State Attorney agrees to terms in lawsuit with Pro-life centers

Delaware officials previously attempted to enforce controversial rules for the pro-life centers in the state. State officials attempted to require all pregnancy centers to post disclaimers in their facilities. The posters would require all facilities to advise there was no licensed medical provider available at each facility. Pro-life centers involved in filing a legal motion to fight against the law called in unconstitutional.   Following the legal case, the Delaware state attorney agreed to halt the enforcement of the law and pay all attorney fees for the resource centers.  Attorneys for the pro-life centers praised the decision made in favor of their clients.

Pastor released from China
A well-known pastor in China is now back in the U.S. after being released from prison. Pastor Ezra Jin was released and arrived back in the U.S. on July 4th. Pastor Jin created an underground house church because of the ban. The church eventually grew to about 10 thousand members, according to reports. Pastor Jin was arrested following China’s crackdown on underground churches. Jin and 17 pastors were charged by the government with illegally using information networks. The charge carried a three-year sentence in prison. Jin’s family reached out the Trump administration and members of Congress last year.  The president later brought up the matter to China’s leader in May of this year leading to the release. Those commenting on the case believe the release of the pastor is a gesture of goodwill between the two nations, and the release of Pastor Jin on the U.S.’s anniversary of Independence Day was also done on purpose.

The student painted the tribute on the spirit rock “Live Like Kirk John 11:25 which reads Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” The Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district claimed the students did not get permission and called it an act of vandalism. Following the accusation, one of the students’ parents filed a federal lawsuit against the school district. Attorneys from Alliance defending freedom represented the student. SNBC NEWS International Trip: VCC South Korea Trip

SNBC NEWS ANCHORS, Wendy Chaplin and Treva Farmer had the honor of traveling with 23 others from Victory to South Korea recently. It was a life-changing experience, and we’d just like to share some of the highlights of our trip and how it impacted us.

Story from the perspective of Treva Farmer:
Our primary objective was to attend a prayer conference at Blessing Flower Church in Uijeongbu South Korea, which is north of Seoul, the capital. Upon completion of this two-day class, we were all awarded certificates by Pastor Choi. We also attended a Billy Graham Crusade featuring Will Graham, Billy Graham’s grandson, who delivered a powerful message of salvation to more than 21,000.

Graham related the spiritual condition of many to ignoring a gps and continuing down a wrong road in life.

“We often think the navigation is wrong and insist on the wrong path we’ve chosen ourselves,” he said. He called turning to Christ “the one and only right direction in life.”

Organizers report thousands gave their lives to Christ, and we were there to witness it.

Among the many other adventures in Christ, we had during our six-day visit were a visit to Prayer Mountain, established by Dr. Paul Yonggi Cho. Dr. Cho reportedly built the largest church in the world in the 1990s, Yoido Full Gospel Church, with more than 700,000 members.

We also visited the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the line between South Korea and Communist North Korea and learned a great deal about the history of the division and their relationship with the U. S.

For a little enjoyment, we dressed up like the royalty we are and visited the King’s castle. And finally, we enjoyed several fun shopping outings.

But perhaps the highlight of our visit was the love shown to us by the members of Blessing Flower Ministry.  They showered us continually with Korean cuisine (three meals per day) and gifts, so much so, that we were truly humbled and amazed at what I summed up as an addiction to giving.

Wendy Chaplin also spoke on the outpouring of love and kindness from Blessing Flowers Church, the beauty of the county, and the power of prayer which is evident is the county and God’s protection over South Korea. The anchors also encouraged the audience to pray, not only for the people of South Korea, but for the salvation of North Korea’s leaders, and use that motivation to continue to pray for the U.S.

(Please enjoy video and pictures from South Korea in the news segment video above)

SNBC Health Report: The importance of water and the human brain

If you are a member of Victory, you’ve heard our pastor make comments about hydrating your brain, when you having a mental block (being forgetful or tired) on a few occasions. The importance of hydrations and the human brain is not only essential, but important to cognitive function. The brain is made up of 75 percent water and when you are not hydrated it slows down cognitive processing. Brain or mental fog and fatigue could be symptoms of mild dehydration. Hydration in the brain effects memory, focus, mental clarity and oxygen levels. Most experts suggest at least 8 glasses of water per day. Some recommend up to 11 or 15 per day. This number does include foods that are majority water. Fruits like watermelon, strawberries, and vegetables such as zucchini, celery and radishes all contain high amounts of water that add to your daily water intake.
