Activists call foul on bill clause expiration
Pro-life activists are calling out lawmakers for a recent costly oversight. Critics are calling out conservative leaders in Congress to allow a bill banning funding to Planned Parenthood to expire. The clause was a part of the Big Beautiful Bill, which was passed last year, but the ten-year ban on funding was later changed to just one year in the Senate. A spokesperson for the Voice of the Martyr, a watchdog group, says this is another way for Hindu nationalists to persecute minority groups. The law would allow the government to seize funding from groups and suspend services provided by any group accused of wrongdoing. Senators here in the U.S. are asking the Trump administration to call out Indian officials for their targeting of the Christian community.
