John 16:27 NKJV
for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
God loves the whole world but He has a special love for those who have received Jesus, His Son. Jesus told His disciples that the Father loved them because they loved Jesus and believed that He came from God. So that’s love on top of love. We can relate to that when we think of how we love people in general but there is another level of love we have for those who have accepted our friendship or other type of relationship. God loves us because we are humans and He loves us in a greater way when we choose to become a part of His family by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior. Let us cherish that love.
