Psalm 37:21 NKJV
The wicked borrows and does not repay. But the righteous shows mercy and gives.
The wicked looks for ways to avoid paying their debts. They love to file bankruptcy after using other people's money. They duck and hide from their creditors and refuse to answer calls about their debts. Why? The nature of the devil is in them. Satan's nature is to steal - to take from people unjustly. So those with his nature selfishly do the same thing. They look for ways to take advantage of others for their own benefit without any concern about how it hurts the people. In contrast, as we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and give to others, we can be reminded of God's mercy for us. He shows us mercy and gives to us. Mercy is a display of power towards someone by the dispensing of goods to meet the person's need, or to be a blessing to them. Let us continue to exhibit the nature of God by showing mercy as we celebrate His mercy for us.
