Florida Supreme Court upholds abortion law
The Florida Supreme Court has upheld an abortion law in that state. Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law a ban on abortions after 15 weeks in 2022. The law has been challenged in the court system for the past two years. Pro-abortions groups argued the law would infringe on basic human rights. Pro-life groups argued a ban of this kind would help in the fight to defend the lives of the unborn. The court ruled in favor of the law being upheld and a second law that monitors abortion requests after 6 weeks making exceptions for cases of rape, incest, medical emergencies, and fetal anomalies. The court also ruled that voters in Florida will be able to make their choice at the ballot box to add abortion protections into the state constitution. Some pro-life groups are concerned voters could expand abortion access in that state but are pleased overall with the court’s decision.

Biden denies attempt to erase Resurrection Sunday
The Biden Administration is back tracking after the fallout from a recent Resurrection Sunday declaration. Mr. Biden declared March 31st Trans Visibility Day. The date has always been declared as Trans Visibility by the Biden Administration; this year the date fell on Sunday, which was Resurrection Sunday for millions of Christians around the U.S. and the world. Biden did acknowledge the day as Easter Sunday, and later sent out a proclamation honoring labor activist Caesar Chavez, who was born on March 31st.  In an interesting twist Biden when confronted by reporters denied that he even declared March 31st as Trans Visibility Day. Biden claims “I didn’t do that” when he was asked why he chose to do the declaration on that date. White House representatives tried to clarify claiming Biden meant that he did nothing to conflict with the tenets or beliefs of Easter Sunday. Mr. Biden issued a total of six proclamations on March 31st. Opponents say the confusing remarks and follow-up by White House officials, is further proof that the White House is being run by someone other than Mr. Biden.

SNBC Health Report: the importance of polyphenols
This micronutrient is important according to researchers especially as we age. Polyphenols are found naturally in plants and are considered one of nature’s healthiest nutrients. It protects the heart, tissue in the body, and fights against inflammation. The nutrient promotes healthy brain function, and healthy digestion. Because polyphenols are naturally found in plants there is a long list of foods where the nutrient can be found. Blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, apples, dark chocolate, black tea, coffee, and pecans are natural sources of polyphenols.  This micronutrient is so important according to researchers that some even campaigned for a day to be observed to highlight the nutrient; the first national polyphenol day will be recognized on July 11th of this year.
