UMC Churches sue to be removed from national organization
Churches with a more conservative conviction are accelerating their exit from the US Methodist Church. The congregations cite the liberal doctrine that has recently been accelerated by the more liberal branch of the denomination. Several churches in various regions around the US recently voted to leave the UMC. Churches in South Carolina, Texas, Michigan, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia have voted to leave the national Methodist Church organization. The UMC North Georgia Conference has even filed a lawsuit against the national organization in order to continue the separation process and keep their properties. The split within the United Methodist Church is also being blamed on the change in policy by the national organization embracing LGBT parishioners, and pro-LGBT ministers presiding over various churches. Since 2019 over 2-thousand churches have left the national Methodist Church organization.

US House passes The US House of Representatives recently passed the Parents Bill of Rights
This potential law is designed to give parents more of a say in their child’s education. Supporters call the bill especially important because of the current climate in the US. The bill passed on straight party lines with no Democrats voting for the bill. It now goes to the Democrat controlled Senate and is expected to face a battle there. The Parents Bill of Rights gives parents the right to know what their child or children are being taught, and to have their concerns heard by school administrators. The right to see the school’s budget and spending, protection of children’s privacy and the right to keep children safe are also a part of the bill’s protections for parents. The bill will require schools to post school curriculums and free speech at school board meetings. Some members of the Democratic party who voted against the bill called it an attempt by Republicans to “censor history”.

Library director fired over Kirk Cameron book tour
A library director in Tennessee has lost his job following an incident involving Kirk Cameron. Cameron recently wrote a pro-America book and is doing a nationwide book tour. The tour first made headlines after several libraries refused to host events. Most of the facilities had previously sponsored Drag Queen story hours. Several of the libraries claimed the event by Cameron would be offensive to LGBT groups. According to witnesses that accompanied Cameron to the event, the library’s director and his staff were described as difficult prior to the event and were intentionally disruptive. One guest added that the director of the library, Allan Morales, had attempted to sabotage people attending the event in the community encouraging guests not to come. Allan also reportedly emailed the publishing company claiming he did not want to “promote an agenda on the left or the right.”  The county board where the library is located later voted to fire Allan following the incident. Allan has declined comment saying he wants to move on and hopes the community heals from the controversy. Cameron’s book and book tour received nationwide attention for the number of libraries that refused to host him. Most of those libraries later extended invitations following outcry from their local communities and supporters.

Ivy League University sponsors “emotional training” curriculum for young children
A school curriculum developed under Yale Medical School is using emotional persuasion tactics to trigger children attending public schools. Parents claim the curriculum is being used to make students become angry about social justice causes and aid them in developing an "intersectional identity”.

The tightly guarded curriculum was created by the Center for Emotional Intelligence at Yales’ Child Study Center. The lessons deeply probe into student's emotions, personal relationships, traumas, beliefs and triggers.

A law firm, the Dhillon Law Group, recently threatened a lawsuit against the Newport-Mesa School District. Attorneys for the firm accused the school district of forcing students to participate in the curriculum with no opt-out feature. The firm also accused the lessons require teachers who are unlicensed in this area to counsel students on the matter which is a violation of federal and constitutional law.

The curriculum encourages students to "see red" on their "mood meters," and to be enraged by social justice issues. It also encourages educators to bring inflammatory images into classrooms to create a culture of rage among their students.

One Newport-Mesa parent commented, "They're there intentionally triggering these kids emotionally."

"The educator essentially gets to define what is just and unjust based on the cultural bias of the day and without regard to any family or student values or beliefs," the parent added.

Another parent said the curriculum was a clear and "subversive attempt to socially engineer our children, to create them into social justice warriors."

It went so far as to ask students to enact distressing scenarios. "Students should go beyond explaining how they would express their emotions, and actually practice it with their facial expressions, vocal tones and body language."

SNBC Health News: Thyroid Health and Iodine
Your thyroid gland needs iodine to make hormones that influence your metabolism and other vital functions. Since your body does not produce iodine, you must get it through your diet on a daily basis. When your body lacks sufficient iodine, it cannot make enough thyroid hormone.

In the case of a serious nuclear accident, radioactive iodine can be released into the air, increasing your risk of thyroid cancer and acute radiation sickness when inhaled.

Non-radioactive iodine supplements help to prevent the radioactive iodine from concentrating in your thyroid gland, thereby reducing the risk of thyroid cancer.

Health experts generally recommend that you get as many nutrients as possible from your food, and iodine is no exception. Foods that are naturally iodine-rich include spirulina, sea vegetables, prunes, raw dairy products, eggs and Himalayan pink sea salt. Eating these foods on a regular basis will help ensure adequate levels year-round.

In the case of nuclear fallout, however, you may need higher doses than these foods can immediately provide — especially if you have not been getting sufficient amounts on a daily basis.

The conventional recommendation to ward off some of the health dangers of radiation exposure is to take supplemental potassium iodide. In addition to potassium iodide tablets, you could use Lugol’s solution, which includes both potassium iodide and iodine in water.

The recommended daily dosage of potassium iodide for an adult in the case of acute radiation exposure, is 130 milligrams (mg), which is relatively high and far in excess of the normal daily requirement of 1 mg or less per day.

For optimal protection, the iodine would ideally be taken one hour before the radiation exposure, and no later than 12 hours after exposure. Other supplements that can help reduce damage associated with radiation exposure are Vitamin D3 and molecular hydrogen.

A Christian school in Vermont is now banned for refusing to play against a team. According to reports Mid Vermont Christian school’s girls’ basketball team will be banned from any playoff tournaments in the future due to forfeiting a tournament game. The schools withdrew from a tournament following the announcement that their opponent’s team had a student who was a biological male that identified as transgender. A representative from the school, Vicky Fogg released a statement saying in part, “competing against a biological male jeopardizes the fairness of the game and the safety of our players.” Following the statement Mid Vermont Christian School was banned from all further tournament competitions. School board rejects Christian University teachers due to faith stance
A school board has ended its relationship with a Christian University’s education program. The Washington Elementary School District board, located in Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona voted to end its relationship with Arizona Christian University. The partnership between the two was used to recruit new graduates to teach in that district. The board elected to end the relationship because of ACU’s Christian beliefs. A board member, Tamillia Valenzuela, even claimed that the graduates high moral standards due to their faith, belief in traditional marriage, and sexual morality would be a threat to LGBTQ students. Another board member, Kyle Clayton, claimed teachers “teaching through a Biblical lens” is embedded in ACU students and he felt those beliefs  didn’t belong in the district.  The president of Arizona Christian University released a statement saying in part, "The school board's recent decision to ban ACU students from serving as student teachers was done for one reason only: our university’s commitment to our Christian convictions. That's wrong, it's unlawful, and will only hurt the district's students." Following criticism concerning the story the president of the school district released a statement claiming the ending of their partnership with ACU was not based on the university’s Christian values which contradicted the board member’s comments.
