Christian school punished for refusing to play against trans students
Christian school in Vermont is continuing to receive punishment for refusing to play against biological males. Mid Vermont Christian school’s girls’ basketball team was disqualified last year after refusing to play against a biological male that identified as female. The student was competing with an opposing team. The athletes and school officials referenced the danger of their girls’ team playing against this athlete. When the state’s presiding board over school sports refused to acknowledge the concerns, the team forfeited their game. The protest resulted in a now permanent ban from school sports and other competitions in that state. School officials have hired Alliance Defending Freedom to take on the case. Attorneys for the school say the students are being punished for their religious beliefs, and their legitimate concerns for their female athletes. The Mid Vermont Christian school, students, and parents have now filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of Appeals 2nd Circuit. The lawsuit claims the students’ First Amendment rights were violated. UN issues study about Trans athletes dominance in women’s sports
The UN recently released a report that is causing worldwide concern. According to the report nearly nine hundred female athletes have lost sports competitions to biological males competing in women’s sports. The report, called Violence against Women and Girls in sports was a worldwide study that covered 29 sports. The study reveals more than six hundred female athletes, in 400 competitions missed out on over 800 medals. Biological female athletes were replaced with biological males who identify as women and lost opportunities according to the report. The study’s author presented the report to the U.N.’s general assembly in September of this year. The author of the study says this intrusion into female sports has increased the number of sexual assaults, harassment, and violations of privacy in locker rooms and bathrooms concerning female athletes. The report also mentioned these violations are causing “women athletes to lose their rights, safety, dignity, and fairness in sports.” The UN so far has not commented on the report.
British citizens call out arrests for silent protests
itizens in the United Kingdom are taking a stand following a rise in arrests against Christians. A petition is now spreading across the UK as citizens call for an end to persecution against silent protests. The calls for change stem from several arrests of silent protestors in front of abortion clinics. Protestors of abortion clinics in the UK have been restricted to areas known as buffer zones.
The areas are used to keep protestors from intimidating clients and workers at these clinics. The order known as the public spaces protections orders also now includes praying as a violation. Those arrested have been accused of intimidation even when praying silently. Other protestors have been confronted by police demanding to know what the nature of their prayer is. Citizens say the law, passed in 2022 is a violation of citizens’ rights. The petition is now at 60-thousand signatures. Citizens in the UK are demanding Prime Minister Keir Starmer protect those who choose to pray silently in front of abortion clinics from persecution.
