📖 "So we have many people of faith around us. Their lives tell us what faith means. So let us run the race that is before us and never give up. We should remove from our lives anything that would get in the way. And we should remove the sin that so easily catches us.” -Hebrews 12:1 ICB

We all have a race that is set before us. God expects us to not only run the race, but He expects us to finish the race. It takes faith to complete our race. We have the Word of God that builds our faith. The Bible tells us that, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. We also have examples of people who have accomplished remarkable things by faith for the glory of God. Some have authored books, and others have audio messages, giving their testimonies of what God has done in their lives. We can learn from those who have achieved, and we can imitate them as well. We can also remove the things from our lives that will hinder us from running our race. We can go to God, and He will show us the things that are possibly hindering us, and when we deal with those things, refusing to give up, we can run our race with patience and expectancy, knowing that we will eventually hear these words: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”.

📖 "[Motivated] by faith he left Egypt behind him, being unawed and undismayed by the wrath of the king; for he never flinched but held staunchly to his purpose and endured steadfastly as one who gazed on Him Who is invisible.” -Hebrews 11:27 AMPC

Moses had decided to walk away from the palace. He would rather have lived for God then to live out of the will of God. He held on to his purpose even though he made the mistake of killing an Egyptian. He held on to his purpose even after he spent 40 years in the wilderness. He kept his eyes on God, and that is what we are supposed to do. We are to keep our eyes on the One who can do the impossible. The One who can turn every situation around. Moses would eventually fulfill his purpose and become the Deliverer for the Israelites. He could have voided the plan of God but he chose to endure. If we will do the same, we can eventually fulfill the will of God for our lives as well.

📖 "I have gained perfect freedom by following your teachings, and I trust them so much that I tell them to kings." -Psalms 119:45 CEV

The Word of God was given to us to set us free from every wile and scheme of the wicked one. It was given to us so that we can know who we are and what belongs to us in Christ. The Word of God will set us free, and it will cause victory to manifest in every area of our lives. God told Joshua that if meditated the Word of God both day and night, that he would become prosperous and have good success. The Word of God says something similar in Psalms 1. Our success comes from desiring and obeying the Word of God. In the book of Acts it tells us that the Word of God grew mightily and prevailed. When the Word grows in our lives, it will do the same thing. It will prevail over everything the devil can throw our way.

📖 ""Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he ruled as king in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord but not with a completely committed heart.” -II Chronicles 25:1-2 EHV

God wants us to be obedient to His Word, but He also wants a committed heart. Many have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. As believers we must serve God with all our hearts. Isaiah 1:19 tells us that if we are “willing and obedient we will eat the good of the land.” God is fully committed to us. He demonstrated that commitment when He sent Jesus to the earth to die for humanity. God demonstrated His commitment to us then, and He continually demonstrates His faithfulness to us by staying committed to His Word. Amaziah obeyed God but was not committed to God in his heart. Man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). When God looks at our heart, let’s make sure He sees a committed heart, not just an outward demonstration of obedience. Obedience is great, but obedience with an obedient heart is even better.

📖 "And when they knew (perceived, recognized, understood, and acknowledged) the grace (God’s unmerited favor and spiritual blessing) that had been bestowed upon me, James and Cephas (Peter) and John, who were reputed to be pillars of the Jerusalem church, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, with the understanding that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised (Jews). -Galatians 2:9 AMPC

God knows how to confirm the gifts and the callings that are on our lives. Here it was confirmed and recognized that Paul had been called to the Gentiles and that Peter and John were sent to the Jewish people. The Bible tells us that “in the multitude of counsellors there is safety”. Paul knew that he was called to the Gentiles, but it was later confirmed by these “pillars” of the church. There are times when we know what we are called to do and where we are called to do it. There are also times where God will confirm these details through a man or woman of God. John the Baptist knew who he was, and he knew his purpose. When they asked him if he was the Messiah, he would reply, “No”. He would then follow up by letting them know that he was the voice of one crying in the wilderness, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord”. God will confirm the calling, and He will put His stamp on what He has called us to do.

📖 "It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness. -Lamentations 3:22-23 AMPC

Thank God for His mercy. Thank God for His compassion. If it weren’t for His mercy, we would all be consumed. God’s mercies are new every morning. That is not a license to sin, it is another reminder of His goodness and love towards us. Later, the verse tells us that God’s faithfulness is great! God is faithful to His Word. He is watching over His Word to perform it. The Word of God tells us that He keeps covenant to a thousand generations. Because God is bound by His Word, He must continue to be merciful and faithful. We may be inconsistent at times in our walk with God, but God is always the same. There is no variable or shadow of turning in God (James 1:17). He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). You can always count on God, and you can always count on His Word.

📖 "O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me. Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.” -Psalm 25:2-3 AMPC

We don’t ever have to worry about being put to shame when we put our trust in God. He will never fail orforsake us. He is a very present help in the time of trouble. We can lean on Him, and we can trust in Him. Furthermore, we can count on Him to do exactly what He said He would do. It is impossible for God to lie! If He said it, He will do it. If He spoke it, He will bring it to pass. It is a divine truth that God cannot lie. Therefore, we can trust Him. Therefore, we can put our hope in Him. God is faithful, and He keeps covenant to a thousand generations. We can never be disappointed when we truly put are trust and confidence in God.

📖 "But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile (taint, dishonor) himself with the king’s finest food or with the wine which the king drank; so he asked the commander of the officials that he might [be excused so that he would] not defile himself." -Daniel 1:8 AMP

Daniel promised himself that he would not dishonor himself (or his body) by eating the food set before him. He had been taken captive and was being groomed to serve the king. Daniel had a diet that he had to adhere to, and it was based on Jewish law. Daniel wanted to honor God by adhering to the law. We should have the same mentality. We should have the same disposition. We should follow God’s Word and not allow ourselves to be tainted by the world. God tells us not to love the world and that a friend of the world is an enemy of God. God makes it clear that there is to be a distinction between His people and the people of the world. Daniel made that distinction, and God honored him because of the decision he made. When we make the same decision and choose to honor God with our lives, God will honor us. God always honors those who choose to live for Him.

📖 “A knowledgeable person controls his tongue; a discerning person controls his temper." -Proverbs 17:27 Complete Jewish Bible

When you understand the power of the tongue, you become very meticulous about which words come out of your mouth. You understand the importance of your words, and you become selective about what you are going to say, because you know that whatever is about to come out could change the situation or it could cause it to become worse. Knowledge should cause you to make better decisions. When you get knowledge of the importance of keeping your temper, it causes you to become slow to anger and slow to wrath. It causes you to think before you act. You will become more conscious of the fruit of the Spirit, and you will allow them to operate in your life. You will become more patient and kinder. There will be more joy. There will be more peace. You will be less likely to lose your temper and find yourself instead in control of your emotions. Knowledge not only brings us power, but it also brings us success.

📖 “Search the book of the Lord and see all that he will do; not one detail will he miss; not one kite will be there without a mate, for the Lord has said it, and his Spirit will make it all come true.” -Isaiah 34:16 TLB

We don't have to wonder what God is going to do. All we have to do is read His Word, trust and obey Him. He said He would meet out needs, so we can expect Him to. He said that He would take sickness away from out midst so we can expect Him to. We can expect God to do everything He said He would do. God is watching over His Word to perform it. He is the guarantor of the covenant. He will see to it that His promises become a reality in our lives when we stand on His Word. He won't miss one detail. Trust Him. He’s good for it.

📖 “Thus says the LORD, "Let not the one who is wise and skillful boast in his insight; let not the one who is mighty and powerful boast in his strength; let not the one who is rich boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] abundance; but let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me [and acknowledges Me and honors Me as God and recognizes without any doubt], that I am the LORD who practices lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight," says the LORD." -Jeremiah 9:23-24 AMP

No matter how smart we are, we cannot boast about it. No matter how strong we are, we can't brag about it. Everything that we have, that is good, came from God. God is the Source of everything good. The thing that we should take pride in is having a relationship with the Creator of heaven and earth. We should boast in our God. Jesus told the people that if they being evil, knew how to give good gifts, how much more our Heavenly Father? If we delight in taking care of our children, how much more do you think our Heavenly Father gains pleasure from it. We can boast in our God because He is the faithful God, the God who keeps covenant to a thousand generations. If we are going to brag about who we know, let's brag about being in relationship with Almighty God.

📖 “Then Jesus called together the Twelve [apostles] and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases, And He sent them out to announce and preach the kingdom of God and to bring healing. And He said to them, Do not take anything for your journey-neither walking stick, nor wallet [for a collection bag], nor food of any kind, nor money, and do not have two undergarments (tunics).” -Luke 9:1-3 AMPC

When God sends His people out, He takes care of them. First He equipped His disciples. He gave them power and authority over sickness, disease, and demons. Once they were equipped, He sent them out. Once they were sent out, He took care of them. Jesus sent them without food, money, or anything. Later on, when they returned, Jesus asked them did they lack anything, and they answered, "No". We can depend on God to take care of us. He will send people across our path. He will direct our steps. Whatever God has called us to, we can trust that He has not only equipped us, but that He will also take care of us. He hasn't changed, if He has done it in the past, He will do it today.

📖 “For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].” -2 Timothy 3:5 AMPC

When we make Jesus the Lord of our lives, there should be a difference. There should be a change in our conduct. There should be a change in our behavior and how we see things. When there is a genuine conversion there should be a genuine transformation. The power of God will cause that to happen in our lives. To say that we have been born again, and there is no change, is denying the power. Salvation is a oneness with God. It is becoming a new creature in Christ. It is allowing the power of God to change and mold us onto His image (not allowing God to do so, would be denying the power of God). We can't limit the power of God in our lives. We must allow him to make us into what He wants us to be. By doing this, we allow Him to shape us into His image.

📖 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, enter his courtyards with praise; give thanks to him, and bless his name.” -Psalm 100:4 Complete Jewish Bible

We are to always give thanks unto the Lord. Everything that we have in our lives that is good came from God: the roof over your head, the breath in your lungs, your job, your car. We are to give thanks for all of those things. You may not have the house you desire right now, but you have somewhere to live. You may not have your dream car, but you have transportation. You may not have designer clothes, but you have clothes on your back. We must be grateful for all the things that we have in our lives. As we are faithful in the little things, God will cause abundance and increase to come upon our lives. As we grow in faith. As we grow in our giving, we can expect increase to manifest in our lives. While we are waiting to get to that place, we can give thanks and bless His Name.

📖 “And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. -Ephesians 6:10-12 Message Bible

It takes strength to make it in this world. The devil will challenge you in every area of your life. The Bible even tells us that if we faint in the day of adversity, our strength is small (Proverbs 24:10). God told Joshua to be strong and of good courage (Joshua 1:6). Strength is vital to the Christian walk. It took strength for Jesus to take on the sins of the world. It took strength to hang on the cross for three hours. It took strength to take a beating the way he did. He was punched in the face, whipped, and mocked. He never gave in to the temptation to call on the angels to rescue Him. He fulfilled His mission. It took strength to complete His mission, and it will take strength to complete yours. No matter what the devil throws your way, God’s grace and His strength is enough to put you over every time.

📖 “Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).” -Colossians 3:23-24 AMPC

When a man or woman accepts Jesus into their heart, they obtain “citizenship” in Heaven; that’s just one award or benefit they receive when they faithfully serve their Lord Jesus Christ. As followers of Christ, it’s important that we never forget that, on a personal level, God can and will give us divine insight and guidance on how to accomplish a task more efficiently and effectively. He will give us the right words to say (Proverbs 25:11) for any given situation AND give us favor when and where we need it. So, don’t lose sight of Whom you represent. He’s got your back, but it brings Him great joy when you represent Him accurately and allow Him to lead you. So, perform every task with a “spirit of excellence”. That means that we “put our best foot forward” (whether anyone else is around or not) because we know that in whatever task we perform, we serve as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). So let’s make Him proud today.

📖 “Let the thief steal no more, but rather let him be industrious, making an honest living with his own hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need. -Ephesians 4:28 AMPC

Paul is giving insight into the purpose of our paychecks. Our paychecks are not primarily for paying bills (you should pay your bills). Our paychecks are not primarily for purchasing items for ourselves and our families (it's okay if you do). The Word of God tells us that we work so that we can have money to give. This is how the Kingdom of God operates. It functions through the principle of seedtime and harvest. When we give, it shall be given to us again, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto our bosom (Luke 6:38). It is after we give that we can claim that God will meet our needs according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). It is always better to give than to receive because giving puts us in a place of receiving. As we grow in faith, we should also grow in our giving. As we increase our giving, we can increase our receiving. It’s time for a shift in our thinking in the area of giving! When we change our standard of giving, we change our standard of living.

📖 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”-1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV

As believers, we do not look at death the way unbelievers do. Heaven is a real place and those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, transition there once they expire here on earth. When Christians die, we know that is not the end. We will see them again. If the rapture takes place before we perish, the dead in Christ will rise first, and then we will meet them in the air with the Lord. We are instructed to comfort one another with these words. It is not the will of God that any should perish and go there, so we must be about our Father’s business. We must tell people about Jesus, so they can spend eternity with the Father in Heaven. Sometimes we must remind ourselves that Heaven is not only real, but it is a place that is far superior to this earth. Knowing that we have a place reserved for us once we leave this earth, that is better than this earth. Knowing that this place is where deceased Christians go once, they leave this earth, should give us hope. It should cause us to live a life that is pleasing to God--a life that would not cause us to miss Heaven! #Heaven #vcccharlotte #salvation #JesusChrist

Rejoice! You’ve got something to be grateful for. Not only does the Lord give us strength, but it’s His desire to put a new song in our mouths (Psalm 40:3). Stir up the gift inside of you (by praying in tongues) and receive God’s wisdom, direction and song of gladness.⁣ (He WANTS to lead and guide you). The Lord is a shield of protection around you both physically and spiritually (He WANTS to protect and cover you.). So, be sure to give Him thanks and praises for His grace and love for you today. 📖 “Day by day the Lord observes the good deeds done by godly men, and gives them eternal rewards. He cares for them when times are hard; even in famine, they will have enough." -Psalm 37:18-19 TLB

The eyes of the Lord run back and forth throughout the earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are perfect towards Him (I Chronicles 16:9). He takes care of His people. He takes care of us when times are good and when times appear to be bad. God is always consistent. God told David that He was with him the whole time he was running from Saul. When it looked like David was not going to survive the ordeal, God made a way of escape for him.

We are faith people, and we are to walk by faith and not by sight. We must stand on God’s Word knowing that God is coming through, even when it appears like He isn’t. The things that are seen are temporary; they are subject to change. Our God is the same, and He does not change. There is ‘no shadow of turning’ with Him. He comes through every time, even in times of famine or lack.
