📖 Moses was 120 years old when he died, yet his eyesight was still good, and his body was strong. ⎯Deuteronomy 3:7 Contemporary English Bible

As we get older, we can still be healthy and strong. The world has sold us on the idea that as we get older, our bodies are supposed to deteriorate, and our health is supposed to decline. The world has given us the idea that we must be sick to die. They will even tell you that “everyone has to die of something.” Moses’ body was still strong at the age of 120, and his eyesight was still good. Caleb was 85 when he told Joshua that he was just as strong as he was forty years earlier. The Bible tells us that “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” We must renew our minds to the Word of God. We can live long, and we can live strong. With long life God will satisfy us and show us His salvation. (Psalm 91:16).

📖 Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; we are well able to conquer it. ⎯Numbers 13:30 AMPC

And they said to all the company of Israelites, The land through which we passed as scouts is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land flowing with milk and honey. ⎯Numbers 14:7-8 AMPC

Joshua and Caleb were of a different spirit. They spied out the land with the other ten, yet they did not say the same thing. They saw the same thing the other men saw, and yet they said something else. They believed that the Israelites could take the land. They believed that God was for them. They believed contrary to what the others saw. If we are going to experience the promises of God, we have to be like Joshua and Caleb. We must say what they said. We must believe the way they believed. They had confidence in God's ability. They knew God could bring them into their promised land, and we must do the same. When we do, we will eventually see the fulfillment of His promises.

📖 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, marked off the heavens with a [nine-inch] span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has taught Him? ⎯Isaiah 40:12-13 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

The Spirit of God played a crucial role in creation. He measured the waters and marked off the heavens with His hands. He weighed the mountains and measured the dust of the earth. The earth is still here and functioning the way it did when it was first created. The Spirit of God that not only played a role in creating his world—but the universe—has also planned our lives! The plan of God for our lives is better than anything that we could plan for ourselves. I Corinthians 2 tells us that the things that God has for us are revealed to us by His Spirit (verses 9-10). God’s thoughts towards us are good and not evil. He has an expected end for us, and we must walk with Him to experience the good life that He has for us. If the Spirit of God can successfully orchestrate the creation of this universe, you better believe: He can successfully plan our lives. Trust Him and His plan.

📖 For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you. ⎻Deuteronomy 23:14 NKJV

We should desire the presence of the Lord wherever we are. Our desire should be for Him to walk where we walk, and to go where we go. We don’t want anything in our lives that would hinder God from walking with us. We serve a holy God. We serve a righteous God. We don’t want God turning away from us because of the music we are listening to or the movies that we are watching. We don’t want to grieve the Spirit of God. We should always be cognizant of God’s presence. The question should be asked, “Would God want to be where I am going?” Would He want to listen to what I am listening to? If God is holy, we should be holy. We are to be sanctified unto our God. We must come out from among them and be separate. We must not touch the unclean thing. For then He will be a Father to us and will be His sons and daughters (2 Corinthians 6:17-18)

📖 But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).
⎻James 1:26 AMPC

It is very important that we hear the Word of God. The Bible even tells us that “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Even though it is important for us to hear the Word, we must also be doers of the Word. The Bible tells us that if we are faithful to it, and if we persevere into meditating on it, we will be blessed in our doing. Isaiah 1:19 tells us that if we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land. If we desire to go from glory to glory, we must be an active doer. We must obey the Word on a consistent basis. As we are consistent in our acting, we will experience the blessings associated with doing. God honors a life of obedience.

📖 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” ⎯Luke 2:49 AMPC

At twelve years of age, we see here that Jesus was about his Father's business. We should have the same mindset that He had when it comes to things of God. Sometimes we can become so consumed with the affairs of this life that we neglect God and the great things He wants to do through us if we would just be about His business. Great Men and Women of God in the Bible whom God used mightily lived a life of consecration. They dedicated their lives to the work that God ordained them to do. John 5:17 AMPC says, “But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now [He has never ceased working], and I too am working.” We must understand that our Father is looking to work through us in this earth realm, but we must have the same heart and attitude that Jesus had when it comes to this divine work. Our God is still working! The question is…will we join him?

📖 But no one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. Then indeed he may plunder his house. ⎯Mark 3:27 English Standard Version

If we are going to take possession of what belongs to us, we must be willing to go to the ‘strong man’s house’ and take it. We have the Greater One on the inside of us, and because He is greater, we can go into the enemy’s camp or into his house and take his goods. Those goods are our goods, and they do not belong to our enemy. Jesus came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly. When the Israelites had to possess the promised land, they did not depend on themselves to defeat the giants. They depended on God, and when it was time to fight, they trusted that God would give them the victory. When we go to battle with the enemy, we go into the fight knowing that the fight is fixed. We have been given the power of attorney to use our big brother, Jesus’ name; and His Name is stronger than anything that the devil has to fight against us. We must get a revelation of our authority. That is the way we take care of the strong man (the devil). When we walk in our authority, we can walk in the blessings of God. We can go into the strong man’s house and take all that belongs to us.

📖 But now [in spite of past judgments for Israel’s sins], thus says the Lord, He Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you [ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives]; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. ⎻Isaiah 43:1-2 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

We have been redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. We have been bought with a price. We belong to God! We can rejoice in this fact because God takes care for His own; He cares for children. He will defend us. He will protect us. When it seems as if we are perishing, we can take comfort in knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us. We have the assurance that when we go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm us. When we pass through the fire, we will not be scorched or burned. God knows us by name, and we are His. As we continue to walk with Him and pursue Him, we will see greater manifestations of His glory and His power. God desires to manifest Himself in a greater way; and as we trust Him and stand on His Word, He will.

📖 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. –Psalm 23:1-3 NKJV

Have you found yourself distraught, overwhelmed, or crying out to God about one situation or another? Take a step back and consider the words of the psalmist David. Ask yourself, “Am I allowing the LORD, to be my shepherd?” When the LORD is shepherding us, we stop allowing the pressure of daily wants and needs override our peace. Why? Because we know that we can cast our cares on the Shepherd because He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7) When we allow the LORD to shepherd us, the pressures and anxieties that would normally trip us up cannot. Why? Because we are laying down in green pastures and beside still waters where our Shepherd restores our souls and marks out the right paths for us to take. In other words, we let the Shepherd do His job. He won’t work on our situations or circumstances as long as we are working on them! There is a green pasture where all is provided. There are still waters where peace restores the soul. There is a path for our feet that keeps us in right standing with our Shepherd. Choose today to let the Shepherd, Shepherd You!

📖 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. ⎻Galatians 5:1 NKJV

When God sets us free from any bondage, He expects us to stay free. God wants us free from every sin, vice, addiction, and anything else the devil would use to keep us in bondage. Jesus has given us victory over sin, and we should no longer be entangled in that which we have been set free from. When God sets us free, we must take the responsibility of staying free. We must be aware of our associations, our surroundings, and what we look at. We must guard our hearts with all diligence. We can live a life that is pleasing to God, but it takes discipline. We must be like Paul and “buffet” our bodies. We must keep our flesh under, but in order to do that, we must keep our minds on the things of the Spirit. If we walk in the Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

📖 Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up). ⎻Luke 18:1 AMPC

When you are a person of prayer and the Word, it’s hard to give up. It becomes difficult to throw in the towel. When you are constantly in fellowship with the Father, and you’re resting in His promises, it becomes hard to faint and lose heart. Things become easier because you are resting in your Heavenly Father. You know that He cannot lie and that He will give you victory. Having done all to stand, continue to stand. Don’t ever give up. Don’t give up on God. Don’t give up on yourself, your dreams, or your family. God always causes us to triumph. You are more than a conqueror. You were built to outlast the devil. You win!

📖 The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance. ⎻2 Peter 3:9 AMPC

Thank God for His mercy. Thank God that He is long-suffering. Aren’t you glad that God isn’t like some of us? We tend to give up on and write people off. We can sometimes become impatient. God is ever merciful. He is aware of what is taking place on the earth. He is aware of the sin, crime, and atrocities that are taking place. Instead of judgement to take place, God is being extraordinarily patient. He is waiting on us to get our act together. We must be the same way towards people and the promises of God. We must not give up on the promises of God, and we cannot give up on people. We must be like our Father, extraordinarily patient. When we are, it's just a matter of time before we experience the fulfillment of the promises of God.

📖 As soon as the meal was finished, he insisted that the disciples get in the boat and go on ahead to the other side while he dismissed the people. With the crowd dispersed, he climbed the mountain so he could be by himself and pray. He stayed there alone, late into the night. -Matthew 14:22-23 The Message

Are you spending enough time with God? We are all busy. A lot of us have a lot on our plate, but despite all that is going on in our lives, it is still vital that we get away and spend time with the Father. He wants to talk to us about what's going on in our lives. He wants to lead us and guide us, and He wants to let us know what’s up the road. God won’t force Himself on us. He won’t turn our phones off for us. He’s not going to turn the television off for us. Those are the things we must do. God will impart to us His Wisdom, but He will not force it on us. If Jesus could still away and take the time to fellowship with God, how much more should we? We are without excuse. Let’s make time for our Father in Heaven; it's always worth it when we do.

📖 Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!" ⎻Hebrews 12:2-3 The Message

Jesus is the perfect example of fulfilling the will of God. He put up with a lot of stuff, but He did not allow those things to distract Him. He knew what His purpose was, and He would not allow anyone, or anything, to stop Him from walking in it. When they tried to make Him a king, He hid Himself. When they wouldn’t receive Him in Samaria, He was so focused that it did not bother Him. They lied on Him. They mocked Him. His family misunderstood Him, yet He kept going despite all of that. He saw the end from the beginning and kept His eyes on that. He is now at a place of honor because He finished His mission. If we want the same result, we must finish our mission. We must fulfill the will of God for our lives. If we imitate Him, we will be victorious like Him. We will experience the exhilarating finish in and with God. We will finish the course and finish it with joy.

📖 And such as deal wickedly against the covenant shall deceitfully dissemble but the people that know their God shall prevail and succeed. ⎯Daniel 11:32 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition

God’s will is for us to succeed in every aspect of life. He desires for us to “prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers” (III John 2). Our victories will come out of our relationship with God. As we walk with God, He will give us divine instruction and insight into our situations. He will lead us and guide us in the way that we should go, and He will fight for us. God will defend us against our critics. He defended Moses when Miriam criticized him. God even let her know that He did not speak to Moses the way that He spoke with people: He spoke to Him face to face. He was implying that there was a closeness there, a relationship. Every good father desires to have a relationship with their children. As we fellowship with God through the Word and prayer, we will have a better understanding of who He is and of His ability. Knowledge of the Word and application of the Word will cause us to prevail and succeed in any situation the enemy brings our way. God always causes us to triumph, and that victory comes through knowing Him.

📖 For the Lord has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His habitation: This is My resting-place forever [says the Lord]; here will I dwell, for I have desired it. I will surely and abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread. Her priests also will I clothe with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. There will I make a horn spring forth and bud for David; I have ordained and prepared a lamp for My anointed [fulfilling the promises of old]. His enemies will I clothe with shame, but upon himself shall his crown flourish. ⎯Psalm 132:13-18 Amplified Classic

God desires to manifest His goodness in our lives. In the text, we see that when He decided to dwell with the people, changes had to take place. He would bless their provision and satisfy the poor with bread. There would be joy throughout the land, and there would be fulfillment of the promises of God. Their enemies would be clothed with shame, and there would be prosperity in the land. God’s will is for us to prosper in every area of our lives. When we make Him number one in our lives, His Word also becomes a priority in our lives. When we are doers of His Word, we can expect God to manifest His goodness in greater ways. He will do so as we allow our lives to be a dwelling place for Him.

📖 Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance. ⎯Psalm 125: 1 The Living Bible

Believers are peculiar people. We are not to be moved by natural circumstances. We are to keep our eyes on the Word of God. The things we see are temporary, and they are subject to change. Every challenge, every obstacle, every attack of the enemy is subject to change. The Bible tells us that weeping may endure for a night, but joy will come in the morning (Psalm 30:5). Psalm 126:5-6 tells us that, “they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him”. There may be tears today, but joy will eventually replace it. You may bring your seed in tears, but you will be rejoicing with the harvest. No matter what the circumstance may be in the natural, we know that it is subject to the Word of God. We are steady and immovable because we know that God is watching over His Word to perform it. We know it is impossible for Him to lie.

📖 For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Well then, as one man’s trespass [one man’s false step and falling away led] to condemnation for all men, so one Man’s act of righteousness [leads] to acquittal and right standing with God and life for all men. For just as by one man’s disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man’s obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him). -Romans 5:17-19 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

When Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, all of mankind came under the curse. Mankind had the sin nature on the inside of them and was destined for a life of failure and calamity. Mankind had become united to Satan and was unable to attain a right standing with God. Jesus came to alter the destiny of mankind. He became a curse for us so that we could be free from the law of sin and death. Jesus became poor so that we might be made rich. He took on sickness so that we could be well. He became sin so that we could become righteous. Jesus came so that we could not only have life, but that we could also reign in this life as kings and priests. We are to be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. We can stand before God as if we have not sinned one day in our lives. Adam caused misery for humanity, but Jesus redeemed us from that misery. He made us more than conquerors!

📖 Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone and ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts! Then flew one of the seraphim [heavenly beings] to me, having a live coal in his hand which he had taken with tongs from off the altar;  And with it he touched my mouth and said, Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity and guilt are taken away, and your sin is completely atoned for and forgiven. -Isaiah 6:5-7 Amplified Bible Classic Edition

Isaiah claimed to be a man of unclean lips who dwelt among a people with unclean lips. God did something about it. He touched His lips. He dealt with his words. What would set Isaiah apart and what would cause him to be used by God was a change in his words. God dealt with Isaiah’s mouth, and He wants us to deal with our mouths as well. We dwell among people of unclean lips, but we don’t have to talk like them. We don’t have to talk doubt and unbelief. We don’t have to talk about sickness and disease like the world does. We don’t have to be people of unclean lips. God gave us His Word to purify our words and to begin to talk like He does. God wants to use us, and He wants us to be His examples in the earth. It starts with us getting born again, and then we must purify our lips. We must begin to talk the way that God does. When we do, we will also live the way He lives. We can expect to live a life of victory.
